Newsome, Asante Samuel Jr or Jaycee Horn at pick #28 ?

The #2 CB position just got really interesting.

I like Horn.

Lol. Gonna be an interesting year for sure. I'd be surprised
to see us win more than a handful of games. It's fine, it had to happen eventually I suppose. Thanks a lot Covid. Lol.

Janoris played well but seemed to drop about 10 interceptions on the season.

Re: Janoris Jenkins Gone

Not happy to lose him. But if this is an example of the massive talent drop off the Saints are facing to get under the cap for the future then I’m not overly worried.

Re: Janoris Jenkins Gone

He and Kwon reinvigorated the secondary last year. I know we have a new secondary coach and I sure hope he can get us on the same page sooner rather than later. DA's teams always start slow. I wonder how long it will take the new players to gel?

It will be an interesting season next year as we see a lot of familiar faces going but then we knew this would be the case!

If we get a winning season next year that would be good as we rebuild the team over the next few years!

Any chance we get Janoris back on a "cost effective" deal?

I keep hearing that once all of the massive cuts are complete across the league that may end up being the modus operandi this year.

Yep... brutal year to be an older free agent.

I hate this one. He did drop a lot of Ints but at least he puts himself in the right position to make plays on the ball. I remember many years that our CB1 couldnt do that.

Some teams have set aside quite a bit of cap space; he may not get what he was contracted with the Saints, but he'll get more than some min Vet deal the Saints could offer as of right now...

Or a break-out pass rusher...

Am I the only one who would have preferred to keep Jenkins over Lattimore? I know the upside for ML can be greater, but Jenkins is more consistent.

Lattimore is our best defensive back...

When you factor age, cost, and who Jenkins covers as a CB2 vs who Lattimore covers as a CB1...

Including, but not limited to Julio Jones and Mike Evans, it's not even close, Brother Gnome...

I saw Malcolm Butler was cut a few days ago and IIRC Sean Payton is a fan of his work …

Wonder if he's in the cards for New Orleans?

For me, I hope we look at the draft for another corner. Gotta get younger, faster, stronger.

Janoris would re-sign for less, in my opinion. That would be the best scenario given he knows the system already. He wasn't cut because he wasn't wanted.

Re: Janoris Jenkins Gone

Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if we brought back Apple. He was very solid until he got hurt and that injury lingered into this past season. If he’s available and healthy I would take him. Quality depth at worst.

Re: Janoris Jenkins Gone

If we can't bring back Janoris, I'd look elsewhere for players.

I hope Kris Richard has some input on who we eventually bring in/sign at CB. Time to bring in hungry guys. I'd also like to see what Keith Washington can do.

PRob (older/declined), Ken Crawley (confidence) and Eli (injured) just isn't good enough at #2 boundary position.
