Alvin Kamara Never Spent Salary - How?
 

There were a lot of articles this month about how Kamara never spent a cent of his salary:

I applaud his wisdom, but I question how its possible. It says he lived off sponsorship money. But wasn't he a sleeper pick in the NFL draft, an unheralded third down back drafted in the 3rd round who split time in college at a struggling program and was going to a 7-9 team? I could see him getting sponsorships once he made noise in the NFL, but do mid-round picks really get sponsored before training camp when they have not proven anything and the casual fan has no idea who they are yet? Who sponsors them? Are 3rd round running backs from 2020 like Keshaun Vaugn and Lynn Bowen who didn't make much noise this year sponsoring some product I don't know of, like Lifetime benches?

He maybe hasn't spent any of it, but my guess is his "people" have probably spent plenty on his behalf. Wonder whose green he was tossing at the club, that one night in question?.....all kidding, I'm sure he's doing it right.

$946,211 is the average salary of a 3rd round draft pick.

I also think he meant his new deal not the rookie money as its stated the $75ml which was the new contracts worth. Pretty sure you can live on four-year, $3.85 million contract for a few years and you can guarantee the sponsors money starting rolling in pretty quick for a man that won Offensive rookie of the year and a pro bowler and 2nd team all pro in his rookie season

Gronk, Beast Mode, JJ Burrow, Saquan B & recently Dak all use their endorsement cash & never touch their NFL paychecks.

These guys set themselves up now & walk away from the game when they want.

He said he hasn't spent any of his football money including his initial contract. He's always lived in a regular house in the quarter and basically walked everywhere that he could. Very early on he seemed to have some sort of deal with Airheads candy. Eating most all of your meals at the facilities and such, along with all of the free swag, could be possible if one was as frugal as he claims.

I think as the evidence has emerged about the long term health of playing football then you'll see more and more players trying to get in and out quickly. And i don't blame them, no point it making tens of millions if you can't remember who your kids are
