Re: Saints Pick WR Kawaan Baker in the 7th round

If he can get Callaway's targets and a couple of more I'd be happy to see him fill the #3 or #4 WR slot after a full off season. Callaway impressed the stew out of me last season. He definitely passes the eye ball test. With another year and a normal off season his second year growth could be substantial.

Baker also passes the eye ball test just looking at this film. He's got the tools already. Coach him up and we've got another late round gem on our hands. Our players, like Johnson on the roster already, may be ready to take the next step and make it to the final 53 or whatever the number on the active roster is this year. I'm hoping that we surprise a lot of folks this year and Winston balls out with this young receiving core.

I hope he shines enough to take Southlake (Jordan Humphrey) spot. We could really use a bonafide chain mover on those crucial 3rd downs.

Jordan, Easop Winston, Lampman aren't exactly "locks" at WR.

Based on his size and speed, believe your first inclination of Kawaan Baker as the WRz is spot-on; he'll face the lesser CB, get YAC opportunities as well as Go routes...

On the Saints depth chart toward end of the season, they've listed Marquez Callaway as the slot; but when he came in on 3WR sets, Thomas moved to the slot...

Based on his skill set, as KMajor alluded, if he's given the WRz opportunity, he should be third in targets behind Thomas and Kamara, or right there with the TEy...

That'd be a good thing as we're back to stretching the field, when Brees was still capable, which will mean more YAC and more productive gashes by the RBs...

Has anyone have news on MThomas, is he going to be 100% is his career as one of the best will hit a snag?
