Saints say 'no intention' of COVID vaccine requirement to attend games in 2021 season
 

The New Orleans Saints say they are encouraging fans to get vaccinated for COVID-19, but the team says it isn't intending to make it a requirement to attend games in the 2021 season.

"The New Orleans Saints have no intention of requiring that our fans provide any confirmation of a COVID vaccination to attend our games. However, we do encourage our fans to get vaccinated," the Saints organization said in a tweet Friday.

The statement came in response to a WWL-TV report that Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District officials were considering such a requirement. This post has been updated from its original version to reflect the new information.

Stadium officials said they will be monitoring vaccination rates, according to the report, and are hopeful to have a full stadium for games in the upcoming season. LSED would be the ultimate decision-maker on requirement to enter the dome.

“We’ve got to be careful that all of the fans that are coming into that facility are vaccinated accordingly, so that we don’t get a COVID spread,” LSED Chairman Kyle France said in WWL-TV's report. “That’s very, very important.”

Dumb in my opinion.

Vaccine is free and can save you / your loved ones. I think it should be an incentive.

I don’t smoke, I wear my seat belt, and I got the vaccine. But I don’t think smokers who don’t wear their seat belts and don’t want the vaccine should be barred from participating in society.

No, but I'm not going to want my tax money paying for their healthcare because of COVID-19 causing complications to their damaged lungs from years of smoking while hospitalized for being thrown from their vehicle in a wreck. It's a b!tch they can't make the game Sunday.
