I don't believe Brady would refer to Brees that way.

How sweet would it have been for the Saints to sign Brady; i'm pretty sure Winston would have hated it!

Exactly. And I'm sure there's still some resentment on his part for the Patriots as they picked Garapolo in the draft when Brady was still in his prime.

All signs point to his comments being about Jimmy G and Brady's chance of playing for the team he grew up loving.

Brady and Brees have a strong mutual respect for each other as evidenced by the two hanging out having a catch with the Brees boys after the playoff game last season.
