Tagliabue/LSU

Sept. 11 - AP

Appearing on Fox's pregame show, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue said beginning Monday the league will look at LSU's stadium as a future home of the Saints. He is hopeful of announcing something this week about where the Saints' next three home games will be.

"Every team represents its city and the state where its team is," he said. "When we've had tragedies in the past - earthquake in San Francisco, wildfires in San Diego - we've kept the team close to home and they've managed to stay there for the long term. That is our goal here. That's the reason we're looking at Tiger Stadium in LSU to have the team play there as often as it can.

"As for the future, I've been reading about the business leadership, the political leadership determined to rebuild New Orleans and we hope to be part of that process and to be at the table."

Here is what I am thinking... Saints are going to need a home for the next 3 year at least if the Dome is rebuilt Baton Rouge Saints, I have an issue with this those bastards in Baton Rouge who supports nothing about New Orleans.

Euphoria,

I agree Baton Rouge has been competative or at least tried to be with New Orleans, but what has happened here is this community opened it's doors to New Orleans. What people have done is great and now there are more New Orleanians in BR then BR people.

If the Saints played a few years in tiger stadium I wouldn't have a problem with that. If anything it would only strengthen the bond in the South Louisiana area, an area that will have to deal with itself and each other so the region will grow stronger then ever before.

Baton Rouge didn't have a choice to take people... and I don't know if there is a lot on NO people there, seems Texas has the most

I think many fans agree.... and it can be done. The Bears did it in 2002, I think, by playing at Univ of Illinois (Champagne). It'd probably be a good thing if the games at LSU this year were packed and run as smoothly as possible.
