Given how seriously he took his last rehab and how competant we know Saints doctors are, there is no guarantee Thomas will ever pass a physical again.

Thing is, based on the past with Saints docs, if he questioned the whole surgery thing, I'd understand. But dude, you don't ignore the calls from your boss for months. That's just irresponsible and insubordinate.

I abhor ridiculous large contracts for WRs. It never seems to work out for the team very long.

Thomas leaves the saints.... never has surgery.....sets receiving records with another team. yeah.... that injury surely did mess him up.

Can’t his contract be voided if they suspend him? I wonder how that works. Is it just the money or would they have to outright release him? Would be awesome if we could be off the hook for some money but still retain him.
In order for us to get value for him he’s going to have to play THIS year and prove he’s still elite after his injury. I doubt we get more than a second for a problem receiver whose coming off a significant injury.

If suspended by the league the team is not responsible for pay during the period of suspension. But, he hasn't done anything to warrant suspension by the league or by the team.
