Open Pool on Kickers!

As far as I’ve seen, there has been no roster moves since Maher was taken off active. Am I wrong? Who is gonna kick on Monday night?

No one.... we're going for two on every extra point play. Don't we need to practice those anyway?

Our kickers is on someone else's roster. Maybe the Baltimore back up KMajor's been pushing for.

We still have to onside or kickoff after we score the 2 pt. conversion. Also have to practice coverage duty and holding. I’m genuinely wondering who is gonna kick against the Jags !

The back up kicker for the Ravens was impressive.

Re: Open Pool on Kickers!

Oh I’m sure he’s good...he’s just not on the roster. I would not want the punter hurt doing something he’s not expected to do. At the very least they need to kick off. Unless they do a free kick like after a safety? I’m just surprised that, as of right now, there is no place kicker/kickoff man on the roster when one will be needed in about 5 days. Sorry, 4 days.

Jake Verity.

After final cuts around the league, he'll be picked up quick.

Punter - Morstead certainly performed those tasks...

Morestead was like the Terminator of punters. I wouldn’t want my rookie punter worried about learning kickoff duties too.

I'll be willing to bet he's kicked off in the past and if only for a preseason game what would it matter? I would actually expect that they'd want him to practice it even if the PK was assigned the duty. You know Payton and being able to handle multiple tasks.

Well, Lutz got hurt doing kicker duties in spring training, I’m guessing there is a risk to losing the punter doing the same thing...especially since it’s not his normal job. It’s obvious a player can get hurt doing it since it just happened...that’s what it could matter.

There are several teams who have the punter handle kickoff duties...

Any injury can happen anytime. That's why coaches and player do not worry about it like some fans. They wouldn't be where they were if they thought that way.

Yet funny enough they are working out kicker today...almost as if they don’t want their punter to take the risk. See, now this is a chop-busting worthy statement you made.

How so? Show me where I said they would want their punter kicking off.

Show me that exact "chop-busting worthy statement".

You are really reaching for unobtainable chops.

“ That's why coaches and player do not worry about it like some fans.”

That is busting worthy. It’s condescending and besides, how do you know what players and coaches worry about more than I do? Their regular kicker just got hurt. Why would they NOT be worried about a non-kicker getting hurt doing duties that are outside of his norm. JP was correct in that some punters handle kickoff duties, but I bet it has been a long time since an NFL team has willingly gone into a game, regular or preseason, with only a designated punter on the roster.

Once again, Boston, where did I say anything about the punter kicking off during the preseason? Where did I ever say going into any game without a place kicker?

You are losing it, brother. Back up and reread your diatribe.

Once again, chill.

You asked me for the statement I did not like. I quote that statement. Then you change subject AWAY from said statement and ***** about something else I attributed to JP. I’ll go through it Again:

your statement of

“ That's why coaches and player do not worry about it like some fans.”

Was an arrogant, passive-aggressive statement made with no other purpose than to try and cut into me. Extremely chop bust worthy.

I never said you mentioned punters kicking off. That was in reference to JP as I noted. The “it” in your statement was referring to players getting hurt. i’m pretty sure the team (coaches) was worried the same way this “fan” was about the health status of their kicking game. Hence why they worked out FA kickers. Hence why I started the damn thread.

Whatever Guido. I don’t have these types of exchanges that are not related to a specific subject with other users, only you. Meanwhile I known there are other users that have expressed issues with you. I’m willing to admit I can be abrasive at times. But I try not to be. You live in a glass house and throw stones. You show no awareness of the barbs your words have or, when you do, you are proud of them. You just don’t like that I call you out on it. Shake your head and offer me drugs all you want. I’m more than comfortable with the justification of my “chop busting” of you. Let it roll of your back like you tell others when they wonder about moves the team makes/made. I wished you luck in getting seats, engage with you about topics and frequently agree with you on points. But don’t play the hurt puppy dog and act like you aren’t willing to take pokes at others.

Of course I take pokes. Just like you. I'm sure not a hurt puppy dog. I am more than willing to spare with you if you wish. It's not my intention, but you seem to want to enter into the realm.

But the words that will never get out of many of our minds...

The New Orleans Saints announced that they have signed kicker Aldrick Rosas.

On July 15, 2020, Rosas was formally charged with three misdemeanors in the Superior Court of California for an alleged high-speed hit-and-run that led to his arrest on June 16.[16] Rosas was released by the Giants on July 27, 2020.[17] He pleaded no contest to the charges on September 23, 2020, and was sentenced to three years of probation.[18]

Beggars can't be choosers. ;) We just need someone to kick off after all of our TD's Monday. Hell, if he can do it with an ankle bracelet then so be it. :p
