Saints TE Adam Trautman to have MRI on injured foot Tuesday

New Orleans Saints tight end Adam Trautman left the Caesars Superdome on a cart during Monday night's preseason game, and while his initial prognosis was positive, the team will await the results of further tests Tuesday.

According to an ESPN report, X-rays on Trautman's injured foot came back negative Monday night, but the second-year tight end will receive an MRI Tuesday.

Trautman started the game, but left in the first quarter to get checked out by the Saints medical personnel. He did not have a pass thrown his way Monday.

Thought this kid was gonna be a breakout candidate this year. Hope he can get healed up and start making an impact.

It's good news the x-rays are negative. I doubt the MRI unearths anything else. Doctors can tell just from an x-ray. At least they have in the past with me for ligaments and what not. Inflammations do show. Trautman likely got stepped on or he rolled his ankle or something.

Hope it's just minor.

Gotta trade for a TE.

Ice up Adam.

We're 28th in the waiver order. It'll be near bottom of the barrel before it gets down to us.

Good hell! Cmon! What's with TEs getting hurt?!

Trade time. Not much talent or experience on the team without him.

Any idea who someone would be willing to give up at this point? That would be the issue.

J Johnson played fairly well last night. He's got promise.

Too bad the Wozinator didn't work out for us.

He certainly had the size to push pesky lineman around.

High ankle sprain?

Philly/Zach Ertz perhaps?

At least make the call …

If you can talk Philly into eating almost $8 million in dead cap over this year and next.

Bet.

Saints can consume that, not to mention cutting/trading a player.

Latavius Murray perhaps?

Sure, but you get what you pay for.

Here's the top guys at that position. Josh Hill is ahead of Ertz, supposedly. and we could've resigned him, but didn't. Why would we spend more $ now than what we could've spent with Hill?

We let Dan Arnold walk. He was coming around for us.

Someone will be let go we can use. We just need to have patience.

We can't. You cannot transfer dead money. Philly HAS to absorb it. There is no way they can get out of it.

Just like we would have to eat $1.8 million in dead cap by trading Murray.

No timeframe on when we'll get Adam back. Hill retired and apparently lost his fire & I don't blame the Saints for allowing Dan to walk.

Juwan is fresh and learning a new position + he's too light for blocking. I had high hopes for Nick V but he's nicked up too.

Saints need a proven guy ... not necessarily Zach but someone with similar skill set.

This article suggests four guys we could trade for.

Hill would not have retired if he were still a Saint, I reckon. But I don't blame him either not wanting to learn a new system, especially one in Detroit.

Ertz may get cut if his snaps are as low as they say it is. We don't need to pick up his hefty cap crunching $8.5 Million salary, even IF we have $11.5 open.

The CB from Denver makes more sense.

Maybe we call Pederson back for now?

There's always Tim Tebow. :D

Too bad Jared Cook didn't work out in New Orleans.

Maybe... salary cap space we needed. But he had the dropsies in way too many crucial situations.

He did. Bad body language at times & carrying the ball like a loaf of bread in the playoffs.

Bye.

FBs are basically TEs too. This is who we have on our roster.

40 - Alex Armah (FA 2021) 6'2" 255 lbs, 45 - Garrett Griffin (RFC 2021) 6'4" 240 lbs, 47 - Sutton Smith (FA2021) 6'0" 237 lbs

These guys are about the same size as Ertz.

Yeah... we'd want a taller dude, but it's not like we haven't tried. Let's wait until next week when final cuts occur.

Don't forget, we are 28th in the waiver order. 27 teams get the first shot at each of those waived players. I'm not real confident at getting a contributing TE from there. But, who knows.
