Is it me, or does it seem that there are more LisFranc injuries lately? Are those more the result of the turf that's being used?

Dr. Google says it is real common in this sport, and soccer too.

According to Dr. David Chao (@ProFootballDoc), most of the issue is related to the shoes the players are wearing. Shoes that give proper support are obviously heavier. He said certain players strive to wear the lightest shoes possible to hopefully give them that extra little advantage. That why you see so many WR's, RB's, and CB's suffering these injuries. It has been the last decade or so that this trend for the ultra lightweight shoes has been popular.

Chao is a sports surgeon who who is a regular contributor with the XM NFL Radio Network. The guy can diagnose most sports injuries accurately just by watching the videos of the play.
