I would like to have added a 4th candidate but Josh Gordon has just signed with the Chiefs. Gordon might have been worth a roll of the dice and I am guessing it would have been at minimal $.

I would welcome John 'Smokey' Brown and Okung(for depth if he still has anything left in the tank?) and Trey Burton(same, depth @the TE spot) into the fold in a heart beat!:bng::goodidea:

I'm going to be a bit contrarian here and say Lamar Miller. I feel like we need another good RB to help preserve Kamara and Jones. Maybe Miller has had enough to time to heal from the knee injury that derailed his career. He's not as old as Gore or Peterson and could have something left in the tank.

Whose spot would he take? Can he play special teams? Those are the two primary questions that need answered for any potential additions.

I’ve talked to some people about that too. I do feel we need a power runner like a Ingram, not him but that style of runner. Those guys wear down defenses

With Smith coming back I suspect Hogan gets demoted. Crawley could cost Heath or Trufant.

Crawley was looking very good before the injury. Someone has to go. That's why I mentioned Heath. We've got decent depth at safety and it seems like CB's get nicked up more often.

Yea, a lot is asked of them. But game day Crawley can be hit or miss that’s my knock on him. I’d let Heath go. Trufant showed he can still play fairly decently and has graded decent with pff, though that isn’t scripture

Yea, that was the knock on him his first stint with us, but he really looked locked in early this year.

I hope he did, AG. I think Kris Richard is doing wonders with this secondary. Glenn was an upgrade from McGriff but Richard has that secondary playing like a Saints version of the legion of boom

That is the tough part, could be hard to make room. Perhaps Montgomery can/will get a few carries once the WR position gets health, offsetting some of my concern about long-term RB depth.

Hopefully, we get a completely healthy Thomas back by the second half of the season.
