Just imagine how well Winston can play when Payton takes the blinders off.

sure will be nice when Payton starts treating Winston like a starting, veteran QB as opposed to a first year rookie.....that we've seen so far

Gotta get some healthy targets. Otherwise it’s a moo point. 🐮

You may want to rethink that statement. You and mapcow have a lot more in common than I thought. ;)

Yea he’s not getting a fair shake. He had two of the best receivers in the NFL to work with in Tampa, he had crap here and has done what’s been asked. When and if Thomas gets back the playbook will open up. It wouldn’t hurt to keep Taysom out there all the time anywhere but Qb.

Eventually Payton will let him play his game and take the training wheels off. If we lose very many games he might just want to see what he's got before we go into the offseason. Eventually Payton will have to realize he has handcuffed Winston. It's got to be hard to throw a football wearing handcuffs. Eventually Payton has to let the man play his game and hope that he "gets it" now.

Not to mention MT & McCoy, two All-Pros on offense.

Think you meant Armstead at All-Pro, but McCoy, too. And getting Tre'Quan back will help, as well.

Taysom should be our starting TE. He could be a potential all-pro if that was the focus.

Agreed, speed, size, good hands. I feel Payton will never accept it though and keep forcing the QB hand at him.

If you want a proven, reliable pass-catching tight end, you'd have to trade for one.

We should have been made a move for Ertz, Brate, or OJ Howard.

Cards traded for Ertz today. Kyler Murray and that bunch will be dangerous in the postseason.

Compensation was a 2022 5th round pick & CB T Gowan.

Wow! He would have been a great addition. Don’t know if his contract/salary would have fit.

I seriously doubt Tampa Bay would have been open to trading either Brate or Howard and especially not to their closest competition in the division.

It all stems back to Coach Payton's love of the Razzle Dazzle.
Ever since that on-sides kick against the Colts a few memorable years ago he has never been the same.
I also blame it on the Juicy Fruit there's something in that gum that turns him Fungo..

I'm not saying anything. I simply posted a tweet concerning the Saints. That said, there have not been many QB's that have been better than Brees at any point of his career with the Saints. To date this season Winston has put up some very commendable numbers. I am very encouraged and expect Winston to continue to improve the more comfortable he gets in starting in the system.

Yeah, he's looked shaky at times, and his decision making under pressure concerns me...but there's been more good than bad for sure. I'm also cautiously optimistic from what I've seen so far, and he should only get better as he gets more comfortable and confident in the system.

Also needs to be noted that it's a new starting QB who's operating in an offence that currently has to be THE worst set of WR/TE's in the entire league, while also missing 3 of the starting 5 on the OL, including his Pro Bowl C...all while playing the entire season on the road save for one game, and all the other nonsense that has gone on thus far: challenging circumstances for a new starting QB to say the least.

I can't wait to see how much better he fares once bodies start coming back into the lineup, most of all MT and McCoy.

We haven’t had a good track record of bringing in proven talent and the relationship ending well here. Last one I can remember is Shockey. The rest end up leaving town like Bobby Petrino. Most like Jared would probably get their rides egged by fans if they set foot in town again.

Ben Watson was very good in New Orleans.

I don’t know how I forgot about Ben. Absolutely. Probably after Drew, one of our best signings. Great guy on and off the field.

Ertz had supposedly shared an interest in being traded to the Cardinals specifically. His wife, a professional soccer player, is from Mesa, Arizona.

I don’t get the blaming Winston’s troubles on the receivers. His completion percentage is th SAME as it has been his entire nfl career 5 plus years - 60 percent.

Thirty3 10-31-2021 02:20 PM

Re: Jameis Winston Rated Fourth Amongst Starting NFL QBs

Winston’s qb rating is now 58 percent- good for 15th in the league. 194 Offensive plays = LAST in the league- showing lack of long drives and 15.4 percent third down conversion rate of 15.4 percent against Seattle. We had like 5 first downs due to penalties. Seattle beat themselves.

Jameis sucks!
Garbage
Lol

I have faith in the dude.
Payton is grooming..makes sense to me building a foundation before adding another floor.

Let's beat Tampa shorthanded and the fog will start to lift!
