New Orleans Saints | Halloween Toga Party

I'm surprised that we are having this toga party in New Orleans. The Romans owned slaves and we are ignoring slave owners or rewriting their history. I guess I should be ashamed that I wore toga's in college. I'm not though. This isn't a racist comment. It's more of a statement about todays woke culture, which I'm not a fan of. Live and let live.

Yea but the majority of their slaves were whiter and often times Roman citizens whose parents sold them into slavery. They also used slavery as a form of punishment for breaking the law. Soldiers from defeated armies made up the majority although slavery is kind of a harsh term. I prefer “prisoners with jobs”.

This 10th century Roman Empire we are talking about though, not a new Nation that’s only been around for a few hundred years.
