Man that sucks. I feel terrible for Jameis. He put in a lot of work and you can tell he truly bought into what Payton wanted for the offense.

I really wanted to see what he a MT could do together but we may never have that opportunity.

Wishing a speedy recovery for you Jameis!

Yeah I figured he was done for the year after that. Guess we'll see what Payton cooks up for Taysom or Trevor. See what happens. It certainly isn't going to be a season without drama. Lol

The Saints have a tall hill to climb now with the only starting caliber QB down for the season.

Idk about that. I had my doubts about Siemian but he played decent. And he found open receivers.

If Taysom plays, he just needs to hang on to the ball. His big issue is fumbling. But he has starting experience and can win. He plays with energy.

Regardless, I think Payton is gonna roll wth who we have. Which is probably the best scenario.

That sucks. Made the right moves. Did the right things. Said the right things. I really think he was about to break loose. Get well Jameis.

My concern is that once you take a bit hit like Hill did, it changes how you play and he is going to be high risk for another concussion. I hope Hill stays healthy but Trevor needs to be the QB going forward so that Hill can do what he does best, cause mismatches on offense.

This sucks. The guy was getting better every game. One silver lining is that since we'll be in cap hell again, if Sean wants to keep him which I think he does, he shouldn’t command a lot of money

One horse collar tackle by a Bucs defender for a just a 15 yard penalty and we lose our starting QB for the season!

Just doesn't seem fair does it? Grrrrrrrrrrr!

This. We all knew this news was coming and it's still hard to hear.

If/when he comes back he's going to have to get a lot quicker with his progressions. I was previously proud of him for taking the sack, he needs to protect himself. I assumed our receivers weren't getting open but they mostly were for Trevor so now I don't know. Heck, watching the replay he got hurt it looks like Ingram is standing alone 5 yards in front of Winston.

That's my question. How is Trevor able to find the WRs and Winston couldn't? What? They tried harder to get open with Trevor? Makes the whole "WRs aren't getting open" argument with Winston seem a little less on the WRs and more on Winston.

But who knows? Guess we'll have to see what happens this week.

To be fair Winston was hitting our raggedy receivers right in their hands against Seattle and they just kept dropping them. It also helps to have Harris back.

He hit Smith for a TD with a nice throw before getting hurt too.

Siemian found receivers at a lower rate than did Winston in the game 55.17% to 60%. Siemian also had a horrible interception called back and fumbled the ball once. Were you watching the game?

Poor fella'. I was enjoying watching his progress through each game. He was a better decision player. Hopefully he will be back stronger and better at reading defenses. He took it in stride well. He has my respect.

I just saw the report on ESPN, pregame MNF reports.
ACL, danmn. Of all things. :(

So Hill, with more experience, and Sieman , not so much experience, but a big confidence booster eating Brady n TB yesterday, will have to carry on.
Both need to be played in every game.
Keep the other teams guessing.

Tampa's game plan was on Winston, not a 3rd string QB. I counted 4 (Saints/Jets/Seattle/Cowboys) backups around the league who had success with their WR's "getting open" yesterday.

It's an entirely different ball game when coaches have tape.

Siemian has more experience Hill. He started 24 games for Denver in 2016-17. He couldn't cut it as a starter and hasn't been a factor in the league since.

He looked way better than I expected but they need to get that snap count right. He stopped a fumble but pure reflex .

I think the point was (at least my point was) it has been taking Jamius forever to pick his target giving us the impression that our receivers weren't getting open but when Trevor went in he was a lot more quickly able to get the ball out hence my statement that he needs to go through his progressions faster I'm not sure what the fumble or INT that wasn't have to do with anything.

To the other people saying our WR's have dropped balls, I don't deny that, again it's not the question.

The snap count won't matter unless Hill gets injured. Payton has already said that Taysom is the starter moving forward.

I was thinking the same thing, + should be an automatic ejection at least given the fact that most horse collars end in serious injury.

I guess this means we’ll be poised to have a new starting QB next season. Ian Book’s the only one under contract in 2022. Jameis will probably be ready by training camp if we choose to bring him back when healthy but we’ll need to make a decision in the spring.

Or at least a big fine, hit them in the pocket where it hurts!

A fine with a suspension equal to the time the injured player misses.

Take that to the next CBA negotiations in ten years when suspensions and fines are readdressed and eventually finalized by player vote.

You have my vote to represent the Saints. I thank you for your service!
