I'm not down for throwing in the towel, but I am down to accept we are just out manned. Maybe Trautman can get off my :censored: list during what's left of the season. Maybe the time some of these 2s and 3s are getting works in our favor next season. Maybe we learn to live with a player or two we ought not try to pay next year anyway.

I think too much money has been spent at certain position / certain players.

MT is basically holding this team to ransom with nothing to show for it except a headache.

So the reason he didn't play was the foot injury and was listed as questionable.
He never stepped foot on the field which took a major weapon off the table. Looked like he was out to me.

We cannot win with the skill players we are currently left with … add injury to insult we lose both starting offensive tackles, staring offensive guard, our “Swiss Army Knife, AK, JW so we are playing with our 3 string backup QB. I don’t think we should expect it get any better this year hoping against hope I’m wrong

I never said he was out there playing. He was officially active. Not out. With Book inactive he was the backup QB.

I took a quick look at Pro Football Focus and checked the rankings of our offensive players. I may have missed a player or two but by my count we had one offensive player who ranks in the 50th percentile or better at their position (Harris at WR). Translation: We had 1 offensive player suit up today who isn’t considered a below average player. You just aren’t going to win games when one side of the ball is so devoid of talent and production.

Coming into the season we knew we had a thin roster due to our cap situation and while our defense has been relatively healthy the offense has been decimated at every position and the lack of depth has proven to be too much for this team to overcome.

I think going forward, if Hill is healthy he needs to start. When you have such little talent on offense you need a QB who can make plays with their feet. Tom Brady would struggle with this offense so of course Siemian is going to struggle. I don’t blame him for the offenses struggles, he’s not set up to succeed with our personnel. The only way this offense has a chance to succeed is we need to run an offense similar to what we saw from Philly today or what the Ravens do in Baltimore.

Onto Thursday and Buffalo. Hopefully we can show up for Drew Brees night

The point is with Kamara Montgomery and a host of others not playing we were pretty much doomed without the diversity of Taysom.
On a positive note Trautman stepped up and had a good game. Just hoping that awkward fall he took turns out not serious.

In NFL vernacular the term OUT refers to official player status, not where they happen to be standing in relation to the field. Taysom was the backup QB (no other QB active) and was performing those duties as does every backup QB when active on gameday.

But, I guess you just need something to argue about. :rolleyes:

Watching some of the highlights ...

The Saint's defense. Early in the season, they were playing some sound football. Last few games not so much. We allowed 240+ yards rushing on yesterday, 40 points. Not having Tanoh didn't help. I saw Granderson get his legs broke by Hurts on a scrambling play.

Feagles time of possession was well over 35 minutes. We can't get off the field on 3rd down(s). That's on the defense.

Right now we look like a bottom 15 defensive group.

The defense wore down. The offense needs to maintain a few drives. In the first half we had one drive out of ten possessions with more than four plays. That drive was six plays and was the first possession of the game. Then we only had one more possession of greater than four plays in the second half until three minutes into the 4th quarter.

I can't put too much blame on the defense. They were gassed.

Gassed or not, it's on them to stop any team from scoring. We did just enough to squeak out a W if the D held, they didn't and we went in the Loser column. We definitely don't have a quick strike high powered O anymore but Allen has had the keys to the kingdom on the D side. This is on the D. We all knew our O would be average at best and a little less than average with a backup qb, it's all on the D for a W each and every game.

The defense has performed poorly. See Giants and Atlanta games.

It’s not a opinion, but a fact. Giving up chunk plays and the inability the get off the field on 3rd down. Saints cannot defend crossing routes or college read option. Hurts has owned us 2 years straight.

Run D was bad from the start, not at the end. Dennis has issues with running QB's. Not just this season but over the years.

Fans will discuss the offensive woes but in film study, coaches will be all over the defense.

Bright spots were Marcus Williams and Davenport.

week. But you just have to stick your nose in and pipe up with some BS that has nothing to do with that point in order to get recognition. But I guess you have to find something to be anal and controlling about.
