Some Teams Are More Favoured Than Others

Curious what action Kommissar Goodell takes if it were the Packers, Cowboys, Ravens, Steelers, Rams, or Chiefs?

Or if Tom Brady's squad wasn't at full-strength?

Funny how the Steelers and Seahwaks fell from your top list JP.
Right now it seems like the Rams and Chiefs have sidled to the top of RG's greeting card list.
One thing for sure you will never have to worry about seeing us on that list.

Getting Older, ran out of steam, but the point was made, the league office has their formula of markets they think maximizes their coin...

Can't believe I left the Steelers off the list...

So there are 32 teams in the NFL and exactly 31 teams have a shot at being on Roger's Brownie list.
The 32nd team is us which stand no chance of ever being on that list.
But a few things could happen:
Lucifer may call back RG to the land of Fire.
or SP moves on to coach in another City
or Gayle sells the Team to Archie and his Sons.

The Raiders are still the black sheep of the league. Rodger was an intern when Al Davis won his lawsuit in 1982 and the Raiders moved from Oaktown to Tinseltown without league approval...

The Patriots are not exactly endured by Goodell as they played the same card as Sean and were not cooperative in a number of investigations, taking the stance - Prove It...

The Saints have had a number of run-ins with Goodell, including the BountygateBeatdown which the evidence was exposed, discredited by fmr Commish Tagliabue...

It's kind of bittersweet with the reffing situation.

Horrible that it's getting worse, but so many told us to get over the 2018 no call, that now a bunch of people are getting their own taste of it.

Worst No Call In NFL History | Saints vs Rams | 2019 NFC Championship Game after that it's all "influenced" Prove me wrong!

Just enough, sometimes, to affect a game. It can be very subtle. They don't do it all the time. Just enough...

And of course we know it can be so glaring and also so arbitrary...it's really hard to catch a good cheat.

If a ref can call holding on any given play, and that's pretty much true, then what dictates whether or not they throw the flag?

Tellin' me it has to be obvious? Nope. Has to affect the play? Nope. Pure discretion by the official I suppose?

The refs themselves will tell you they call what they are told to call. That's why there's so little focus after a game on stupid calls because everybody knows the result...you run into a NFL firewall. Why would the NFL hold them to account? They're doing exactly what they're told. Maybe it hisses off coaches, players, and the paying customers, but keep your thoughts to yourselves else you get fined, suspended, or even banned.

More recently, the block in the back call on the Saints FB when Hill just threw for a 1st down killed the drive and effectively the game. It's the obvious bad officiating that makes many of us want to give up on the NFL since our favorite team is subject to the shady stuff that prevents them from advancing to the Superbowl.

I'm just not convinced it's "bad officiating". NFL Officials are actually, well, it's amazing how good they are. Its amazing how many times instant replay shows they got it right.

You can't review the calls their making - the ones we're complaining about, along with the coaches and players.

When I present the idea of the games being “rigged“ it doesn’t mean that the outcome of every game is predetermined. it’s more the idea that, when in doubt, the league will give a handful of teams a break on calls while they give a different handful of teams the short end of the stick. That block in the back call against Dallas was an example. So was the roughing the passer against the Titans. That’s my thoughts on it.

Why no taunting on CG after the game ending INT against TOMMY BOY? Why no Unsportsmanlike Conduct on the same player for telling the Saints Head Coach "To go f**ck yourself"? The officials know they "Have The Power" Look at linebacker Cassius Marsh "Taunting" the bench then "Hip Checked" by the Ref? Saints aren't going anywhere, Ref's know it. Sure, let'em feel good for a night!!! TOMMY BOY will have them back in his court for the rest of "The Run"

That is the exact reason why I don't watch NFL football anymore except for the Saints. Well, that and all the political stances from the players made it impossible to stomach.

Oh, and anyone who thinks the refs do a good job never refereed a game in their life. I refereed for 40 years and know that proper training will make incompetent refs better. With more training they get better each time if they have a ref coach. I'm a rugby referee coach as well so I know how to fix individual issues.
