Atlanta Advice
Son and lady friend will be in Atlanta this weekend and will be attending the game Sunday…….Any advice on do’s and donut’s…..places to go (friendly), We’ve been to hostile environments before…Seattle when he was a kid. Also, took family to NO for a fail clown game years ago. Anyways any advice/tips would be appreciated.
Thanks, |
Re: Atlanta Advice
No worries. As must as we rag on Failclown fans, it's all pretty chill.
Best advice is to stay out from the city and take the MARTA train in to the stadium. It'll put you out right across the street. There's an app called Breeze Mobile where you can buy a ticket with your phone. There are readers that will read the ticket off your phone. At $2.50 a trip, and free parking at the train stations, it's the best travel value. SFIAH |
Re: Atlanta Advice
The aquarium is amazing if you haven't seen it. You have to buy tickets online in advance currently, but it keeps you from having to wait in line at the entrance.

Re: Atlanta Advice
You won't have any problems with Dirty Bird Fans despite the intense rivalry we've had over the years.
Don't taunt them or throw beer on their heads and you'll be fine. |
Re: Atlanta Advice
I've always heard the fans are fairly cool with visitors. Probably because the home fans are always outnumbered. :D

Lock your doors and carry a loaded firearm is my best advice.

Re: Atlanta Advice
Appreciate the info. He's not a loud mouth, pain in the butt type of fan. We had a good experience when we went to NO to catch the fail clown game several years ago, met some decent failclown fans, although not overly intelligent....at least it's not Seattle. Any other words/ideas are appreciated.

Re: Atlanta Advice
I lived in ATL for a while and used to go to the NO game very year. Always wore my colors, never had a problem aside from a little good natured trash talk. Honestly with their record you'll probably have more whodats there than Falcons fans.

As a kid, I remember my dad taking me to a game at the old Veteran Stadium in Philadelphia. Boy, those fans ... SCARY. I guess it made sense that they had a courtroom & a holding jail cell on the bottom level . |

Re: Atlanta Advice
The stadium is really nice, as well. I've been to 6-7 soccer matches in there, but this Sunday will be my first football game. Can't wait to see our Saints take care of business in the new Benz! It only makes sense Mercedes would change the sponsorship to Atlanta, as they built the U.S. headquarters here.

Re: Atlanta Advice
Son just texted me, said he dropped his first WHO DAT walking thru Olympic park…….said it’s raining, told him what did he expect in Atl, something nice, cheery and bright.

Re: Atlanta Advice
Son just checked in, said it looks and sounds like a home game. His seats are right in the middle of the Falcons nest. Let’s go!

Re: Atlanta Advice
Final check in.....Son said it was a great trip. Lots to see and do, people were decent in town and at the game. Some friendly banter, but overall okay. He represented well, he loved seeing how well we travel (his biggest take away).

Re: Atlanta Advice
Strong representation from Saints fans yesterday. I'd say it was about 60/40 failclowns/saints fans.

Re: Atlanta Advice
A lot of their season ticket holders made the trip to the championship game tonight from what I have seen.
