Easy to say.

Gives his fans a little thrill.

Unlikely that he actually considered it and his contract most likely specifically prohibits it.

Made for TeeBee ratings comment.

A number of high-profile, successful players have returned to the field after temporarily hanging up their cleats. Eric Weddle is the latest to "get off the couch and back on the field."

All we need to do is to have Sean Payton ask him again ... oh wait 😦

Weddle's even going to be wearing the green dot today. Pretty high confidence from the Rams.

That is not what he said immediately after Payton called him. Memories fade with time....

Just picture Brees playing behind that pieced together O line. His career would have really been over after that "favor".

It wouldn't surprise me if he at least thinks about a comeback in 2022. A year to heal, and in my opinion doesn't look all that comfortable in the booth or studio.

He finds his comfort looking at his bank balance.

Lots o' cash and no painful Mondays.

I am seriously wondering if Brees is going to make it as a big time announcer. He was originally slated to replace Cris Collingsworth, I seriously doubt that is happening anytime soon.

The transition takes awhile. That's what Sean Payton was talking with Dan Patrick about on his show recently. Patrick told Payton that it takes at least two or three years to get comfortable in the booth calling games giving Romo as an example and Payton said he understands and was prepared to make that commitment. The same could be said for Brees. I must say that Brees seems far more at ease doing color on the Notre Dame games and the one NFL game he called with Mike Tirico than he does on the pregame sets.

I think he'll get better. It's weird talking to an audience that isn't there, and it's even more weird doing that while people are watching.

I have no opinion on this. I haven’t watched anything NFL related that wasn’t on the football field itself in a decade, at least. I haven’t watched much on the field either since January 20, 2019.

If he wants to be good at it, he will be, eventually. The only reason for him to even do that job is addiction to the attention he receives.

The NFL is a game show and Brees is now Vanna White, turning letters.

How do you know it takes a while? What qualifies you other than someone else's opinion? Asking for a friend...
