I wonder how Atlanta would handle that $55 million cap hit by getting rid of Matt Ryan. It would be cheaper to keep him on the roster. Which, I suppose would make sense for them since Watson may get suspended the first six games anyway. Then again, I doubt Ryan would buy into any of that.

It would be fun watching the turmoil though.

I thought about this for a bit. Blank less interested in having Watson in a falcons jersey as he is having Watson not in a Saints jersey.

Rivalries generally extend past the field... Or faced with Brady and Watson in the NFC South, Blank cant stomach where he knows the Falcons will sit at the end of the season.

Dont sleep on why Blank did this himself instead of sending Fontenot or Smith either, Watson had issues with the Texans ownership not keeping their word and he wants to show Watson that he is different. This also keeps his pitch Falcons vs Texans not Falcons vs Saints.
