Deshaun Watson to Saints?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Ill risk having rocks thrown at me only because it needs to be said. If SP were still with the Saints it would be a no brain'r for Watson to come to New Orleans. Falcons ballboy or not....

They said as much in the video up above. What needs to be said instead is that we're not so sure about that. SP likes the challenge of developing a QB into a hall of famer. Brees was not Brees until he landed with SP. Same could he said about Tony Romo... And a few others. It remains to be seen if this coaching crew can even handle a talent like DW or even develop talent into worthy NFL QBs

I got chastised for asking that question a few weeks back and saying that Dennis Allen would not be a draw in free agency for QBs or WRs. I’ll say this, there are many players in the league that hold Sean Payton’s ability to develop talent in high regard. They may very well be out there but I haven’t heard anyone speaking about the rest of our coaching staff in that way.

We better hope someone took some ***king notes lol.

That said, not having Sean is not a negative, it’s just not a net positive, as I don’t know of any other coaches in the NFC South that could wear his shoes in talent development. We may not be holding on to Winston because he does need work but we don’t have the person to do it. (Pure speculation)

They know something to shift the line that much. It may be the fact that we kept pretty much our whole roster intact without having to make any cuts.

It’s been surprisingly quiet when it comes to Winston. Winston talk among Saints fans has been overshadowed by the offer for Watson but I can’t recall hearing about any other teams being interested in Winston for a while now. Maybe a lot of teams either don’t have the person to do it or don’t have a person who thinks he’s worth it.
This kind of brings us back to the question, if not Winston/Watson then who?
Reportedly Armstead was waiting to see if we signed Watson to test free agency but apparently he decided to go ahead and see what else is out there.

Maybe Winston is waiting for the saints, who knows. Let Watson go to craplanta and resign Jameis, so I can get my color rush jersey

Well I'd say you Hill it out for a season, or all that package you were about to throw at Watson, you throw at a QB draft pick.

I agree. Way less risky. Worse case we blow a first round pick. Better than putting us in a spot that could set the franchise back for years.
