Blake Bortles Wants Out

Can you blame him? Is he better than Dalton? Did we really need to sign Dalton?

I am very disappointed in Bortles, he should have manned up and competed for the primary backup job. I don't recall anyone ever saying the job was being handed to Dalton?

Maybe if he quits crying like a baby, he wins the backup job versus Dalton, and helps the Saints with that now-come-to-light pesky third round pick !

The Saints said that very thing when they agreed to release him.

I don't know much about Bortles sounds like when the competition got a little more difficult in the QB room, he wanted out. Where is the fire?

Not what I'd expect from a former 1st rounder but oh well. Guess there is a reason why he is on team #6.

Good luck to you sir.

Best of luck to Bortles and there are enough spots he could catch on as QB2/3 elsewhere. We just saw Dalton as a better option - and with good reason.

It says a lot about him when you don't even have the chest to compete for a backup spot. He wants it handed to him. He should retire.

A Journeyman QB, off to a journey elsewhere. In my opinion Dalton is a strong back-up QB for the Saints.
Just hoping Jameis stays healthy and Dalton stays holding the clipboard.

Bortles would have been a bargain as a reserve QB; but to be fair, if they were guaranteeing more money to Dalton, there was never going to be a fair QB competition...

To say otherwise, you're BS'ing yourself...

Bortles didn't man up to the challenge. I wouldn't expect him to be a leader in the clutch moments. But then again, if he lost the backup job he wouldn't be able to compete for a job and he could be out of football. I don't really blame him but I won't miss him either. Good luck.

Bortles had his best years with the Jags
Jacksonville Jaguars (2014–2018)
Los Angeles Rams (2019)
Denver Broncos (2020)
Los Angeles Rams (2020)
Green Bay Packers (2021)
New Orleans Saints (2021)

That element is present in nearly all Saints debates, typically framed as optimism :bng:

The second they signed Dalton it became clear that Bortles was nothing more than a camp body. Bortles may have been a bargain, but if you are in it to win now Dalton gives you the best chance if Winston were to go down again.
