Saints lose a great fan today.
 

Sorry if this sounds selfish or narcissistic, but I need to say this to vent. Sadly, The Saints lost a great original fan today. My mother, born and raised in New Orleans, passed away today after a losing battle with non-viral pneumonia-like symptoms at the age of 85. She was a prototypical Louisiana lady of class and character who loved and rooted for the Black and Gold since day one. She was a pious, caring woman who cared for her family and was honestly the nicest person I’ve ever encountered in my life (and I can produce witnesses to back that up!).

Anyway, I am again sorry if this seems self-centered to post here. Maybe (hopefully) it’s the beginning of a long healing process for me. I just wanted/needed to let people know that Heaven gained a new Saints fan today and I thank God she got to see at least one SB Championship for her team.

Prayers my friend. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm dreading that day as my parents are in their 70s.

So sorry, Boston. I lost my mother to similar health issues two years ago and it still doesn't seem real. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope you find peace.

Brother, I can't imagine how you are feeling right now. I'm terribly sorry to hear this about your mom. Your grief and reaction here on the post is normal & appropriate.

I hope that you’ll be able to take comfort in your positive memories of her over time.

My condolences go out to you and your family. This is tough.

Thanks Chris! LOL, well, she was a heck of a card player and she had an identical twin sister. I guess in the old days before TVs they spent a lot of time playing hearts or canasta, gin and bridge. When my mom and aunt would team up as partners they could read each other’s minds it seemed and they would hardly ever lose. When we had big family gatherings and the cards would come out the first rule
spoken was “Joan and June gotta be on separate teams!’
