this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I agree that most of these grading systems are bogus. The best I can gather from my very limited knowledge is that it is likely based somewhat on where a guy was projected to be drafted versus the spot drafted ...

I agree that most of these grading systems are bogus. The best I can gather from my very limited knowledge is that it is likely based somewhat on where a guy was projected to be drafted versus the spot drafted at, and how well did you fill your needs or improve your roster. In the Saints case many felt the ultimate cost of gaining the extra first round pick, then moving up to get a WR was a huge cost for a non-QB. Their 2nd round pick, many felt Taylor was a reach and not a real need for the team. Something like that...

Yeah. The Saints felt they didn't NEED a QB and had targeted both Olave and Tayler as players they absolutely wanted from what I have gathered from both Loomis and Allen. They have pointed out both the high character and work ethics of the players they selected. And, I doubt either care in the least what the "draft experts" think, right?
