Speaking of projects, earlier this summer I replaced my grass (Bermuda) with sod (St. Augustine) for the entire back yard. It's been so damn hot here, it really hadn't had a chance to grow to its potential. Even with adequate watering, it feels & looks like hay.

I'm actually looking forward to the fall and cooler temperatures ... and I'm not a fan of cold weather .

We've had St. Augustine for 30 years. It handles the heat well and is thick and plush right now with intermittent watering. It's been dry as hell here and 100 almost every day for 40 days. We have a lawn treatment service that handles fertilization and pest applications year round which helps. I mow to four inches which they said was best for St. Augustine and it does seem to be ideal for our climate here, for sure.

Zoysia is so tight is prevents weeds from poking through. And it's fine blades and takes a little less hydration than all other types of grass.

If I chose to cut my grass short, you could probably use it as a putting green.

I was about to make a comment about old men and their lawns but damn man, that grass looks awesome. Makes me want to lay down some sod next year. Great job man.
