Drew Brees gets a brutal critique from a Fox analyst. 'He's not as loved as he thinks he is.'

Saints legend Drew Brees has gone through a bumpy transition from football to television, and he's discovered that people in the industry haven't been all that kind as he's worked through some early struggles.

Bill Simmons is part of a group of writers and analysts who have been critical of Brees' performance as a studio analyst for NBC, describing him as a "corpse" in front of the camera.

Since then, the New York Post has reported that Brees is out after one season with NBC, which didn't like his chances of becoming the network's next top NFL analyst.

Brees took to Twitter to say that he is "undecided" on his future, leaving open the possibility of doing something else altogether.

When Arrington took over the discussion, the critique of Brees turned more harsh.

Drew Brees: I was slammed to the ground on my money (throwing) shoulder, had it reconstructed, rehabbed intensely, went on to play 15 more years and be the All-Time NFL Passing Leader...

Lavar Arrington: Bought my Free Agency because I didn't like HOF Coach Joe Gibbs, got the G'nats to overpay for me, blew my Achilles. What'd I do? My tired arse retired after five years...

He is loved in New Orleans. Nothing else matters.

Its not that nothing else matters as much as haters will hate ... Drew won at every level in his career. Not winning at NBC and with critics certainly feels like a win for me.

I’m not sure I get the cartoon reference. Did Brees support Blake?

Thinking famous former football players make the best announcers/commentators is like thinking former Baywatch actors make the best lifeguards.

Just wait until Brady starts his gig and mails it in.

I still consider broadcasting an occupation of its own.

Unfortunately, I believe that Brees is absolutely not well liked by many. I believe a lot of this has to do with him speaking out against kneeling for the National Anthem a couple years back, then his apology upset the other side of it. Top that off by not being very good at broadcasting and there you go.

LaVar has never been... and he's been envious of Brees' accomplishments. Enough said.

The NFL did. I don't think it was an option whether or not to wear some sort of propaganda on their helmets. If it was an option and a player didn't, I'm sure they were crucified for it until they conformed.
