Could an all lsu team contend

I was trying to think about the best lsu guys in the league and wondered if an all lsu team could make the playoffs, I know the passing game would look good. What do u all think? Anyone want to throw the team together on paper for us all to look at?

They’d have placekicker covered. Not sure about punter.

Here’s a sortable list of current players:

Combine the 2019, 2011, 2012 squads... You may have a point.

An NFL team is built after years of drafting and signing free agents. They would be a formidable team alright.

It takes years to build an NFL roster with draft picks and free agent signings. That would make a heck of a team if they could keep everyone together.

Edit: Sorry about the double post. I didn't think it went through so I said it again to make sure I got my point across. Lol

The thing is that there are not 52 LSU players in the NFL. One would not expect there to be because there are 32 nfl teams compared to 130 FBS college programs, and 17% of NFL players come from outside the FBS, so even about 40 active NFL players from LSU is impressive. But when you account for injuries and position depth a team would need a larger pool. LSU could make a great base but would need players from some more minor college programs and/or an ability to make trades to fill out a full roster.

There are 70+ LSU players in the NFL (according to the link I attached). That was before this year’s draft. That does not say they cover every position though. Unless you have guys like Jarvis Landry playing special teams. However, The idea of having 22 LSU starters (11 each side) is very realistic.

I would say the o and d lines would b the big questions but for a full team of starts would b a tough team

Re: Could an all lsu team contend

It looks like there at 46 LSU players on an active roster. You only get to 78 counting players who are either not good enough, healthy enough, or young enough to be on an active roster. And then those 46 players are heavy in certain positions and light in others. So you have a lot of talent but some missing pieces short of a really good contending roster. Not much for TE, backup QB, below average oline and dline.
