Not sure how I feel about it. Maybe it will grow on me. Although I always thought the gold helmets with the black jerseys and gold pants was their best.

No me gusta! The black helmet reminds me of Atl. If they are gonna do a black helmet then there should be one large gold fleur de lis running down the center of the helmet with the top point centered above the eyebrows. JMO.

That would be slick. I’ve wanted to see them in black helmets ever since seeing the old ones they used in preseason. I remember a know it all member of the board say it would never happen again.

If my memory serves me correctly, the Vikings fumbled on a hike to Daunte Culpepper--he picked up the ball--play is broken up now so he ran virtually untouched through the offensive and defensive lines for a three yard TD (or 2-point conversion?) and the game was over. And it sucked. But I like the jerseys.

Maybe for the all black uni game... FDL looks a bit tiny on the helmet.

Yeah. They should make the jersey and pants gold match the helmet gold and do a gold rush uniform as well.

I wonder if wearing a black helmet makes a noticeable temperature difference when you are getting blasted in the sun at Tampa or even practicing in Metairie. Just a thought.

I think it's the fact they used a regular fleur di lis and the Black of the helmet is kind of bland.

Yep. Me too. I can't stop thinking about Atlanta lined up across from us wearing black helmets and not playing well. I guess I associate the black helmet with losers. I'm not a fan of the black helmets unless it's with the all black uniforms. Even then I prefer the all gold look with the throw backs.

In short, stick with the gold helmets or add a lot more gold to the helmet with a larger fleur de lis and gold stripes down the middle to give it some class. That's it! I just realized they look boring and classless. Everyone knows that we already have the best uniforms in the NFL. :bng:

I really feel like if they're going to wear these for games there should be some uniforms to match the design. You know, just a once or twice a year kind of thing.

I would think the heat is harder on black helmets. I know when we wore all black uniforms in rugby we nearly died from the heat. Research indicates the color black appears to most people as an intimidating color for a team color vs. say a white uniform. Although, our all white's and throw backs are intimidating because it's those Saints lined up against them and we consistently make the playoffs while Brady is a non factor when he plays the Saints. :beer:
