Some interesting thoughts, though it does sound a bit like a message board fodder - trade Trequan cuz he sucks and expect to get something for him.

edit, LOL I'm late to the party :)

Would trade Granderson before Tanoh; Granderson's low salary cap would fetch a better draft pick...

Best value would be to move No. 1 Marquez Callaway; talent coming in is as good as he is...

I know this is going to sound a little crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Deonte Harty gets moved. The WR position is all of a sudden a little crowded, and Harty may be close to a contract dispute.

That article doesn't mention it, but I think Trequan's dust up with Jameis doesn't help him either. In terms of his value to the Saints I mean.

I wasn’t aware of a dust up stick (not doubting you). If so, that makes the resigning of him kinda silly in the first place. 😐

Dust up might be the wrong term. I think a game before Jameis got hurt he and Trequan got into it on the sidelines. May have been nothing and the next week he threw an early TD pass to Traquan. Still things like that stick out in your memory.

Hey for all I know they could have been arguing over who should be the next James Bond.

Yeah. I seriously doubt either of them, or for that matter the Saints, even gave it a second thought. Anquan Boldin said this about a sideline blowup he had with his coach, Todd Haley ...

Boldin to reporters: "For me it's hilarious. I don't want to sit here and dwell on it, because for me it's in the past, but that's something goes on every week in the NFL -- whether people know it or not. Every week someone on the sidelines gets in an argument. But it's in the heat of the moment, it's a part of football and once it's all done, it's dead on both sides. Like I said, it's not something I wish to dwell on or will let distract this team, because that's not my priority."

I saw a replay of that Smith/Winston incident a couple of weeks ago shown as an example of Winston's seriousness of being a success as a starter for the Saints.

If only. They say he is too old.

If that is what it was, fantastic. I think we would all prefer passion to apathy.

Yeah. They said Smith lined up wrong and Winston gave him a chewing out. I've seen Brees and Brady do the same on more than one occasion.

Also, I think he has publicly said that he isn't interested in the role.

He has been one of my favorite actors ever since Luther - the British series.

Harty being moved next season is a strong possibility if both he and Shaheed are still around.

Shaheed will be less expensive either way right?…as he will be on a rookie deal for a while. Pinch those pennies where you can!

Right on. Being up here in the deprived wasteland of Patriot land (man I hope they suck this year) I miss on things. Thought maybe something happened.

Edit: I missed that play or at least don’t remember it. I watched a couple games on play by play online then caught replays later.

Damn that article has so many errors. Someone tell the writer our shut down corners are lattimore and Adebo, not Roby.

This interview is another reason for me not to be a Tre' Quan Smith fan. He threw Callaway under the bus when asked about his dust up with Winston. Apparently he isn't a team guy with the humble answers. We've got young talented players who want his spot and I hope they get it.

I don’t like him either but I get the feeling they were goofing around in the locker room and pointing fingers at each other for fun. That interview may be an extension of that. It was a pretty relaxed and candid interview and it looks like he was just clowning.
It is weird hearing him refer to himself as a veteran though. Yes, he’s been here a few years but every year I feel like I’m seeing him for the first time waiting to see him reach his potential. I would rather cut ties with him than anyone else but I don’t see any trade value there. I don’t have a ton of faith in Thomas returning and if Landry gets injured we are right back where we were last year so keeping them all wouldn’t surprise me.

Smith has zero trade value.

4+ years in the Saints system, he is a finished product. What you see is what you're gonna get.

Let him block for playmakers.

It was a joke, Rugs! LOL! You heard all the media crack up when he said it and he laughed when he was saying it, too. You played rugby, right? Tell me y'all never screwed around with other players. You're getting on him for nothing. :chug:

That's right, Dude. That's obviously what it was. That's why the media laughed at it.

He'd be a solid #4 or #5. Who's asking for or expecting more? But I agree, there's plenty of free agents of the same caliber so he has no trade value. But he does have value to the Saints in that he knows the offensive scheme and terminology.
