That is a solid practice squad to develop for the future. We've got the coaches to make the most out of this talented group and surprisingly only one UDFA made the list this year. That means we have good depth and we all know how important that is after last year! It looks like we had another successful draft. Thank you Jeff Ireland!

Not that I disagree Major, but suppose Winston comes back healthy and strong and establishes himself as a leader and is signed to an 8 year extension. Does that change the need to get a developmental QB?

Saints could use help during practice with the developmental team. Winston has the tools now on offense to be successful but long term ... we have to wait and see.

Fast forward to 2023, I wouldn't rule out the Saints drafting another QB.

If Winston has a decent/good year, wouldn’t drafting a guy who could be his “replacement” undermine him. Again, just thinking out loud. Not trying to argue. I guess what i’m saying is if he (Winston) comes back from that injury and balls, then I don’t see a need to develop a competitor as much. I could be wrong.

It appears Rashid Shaheed could be elevated (per Nick U) this week to the 53-man roster. I'll be excited to see what he can do. His college game tape on special teams is nice.
