Just need more than 20 yards passing.

A lot of a gap pressure so far. They’re gonna have to fix that

Offense has been bad but I’m really disappointed in the defense. They are supposed to be the strength of our team and they’re getting worked right now

Defense has no excuse. Sorry. We were loaded. Wish we kept Chauncey.

It's going to take some time to get used to the new safeties. But no one on our d-line can seem to get off a block :(

Maybe DA doesn’t know how to call plays against rpo qb’s. Should give Nielsen the reins

It looks really bad. It’s great that we’re still in this game, but they’ve failed to diagnose this zone coverage Atlanta is playing against them.

Yea, it’s nothing new. I’d throw Throckmorton in there

Road, DIVISION games are never easy + Saints have had very little success against read option QBs.

A lot of re grouping at the half.

4 quarters though…

Why is JW not getting the ball to our WRs? It's not just the OL.

This plus we are losing the line of scrimmage on both sides.

Olave was wide open for a TD when JW targeted MT.

Thomas has a ton of rust to shake off. It's going to take time.

That play might been to MT only and the rest was window dressing. Who knows

Right. Offensive and Defensive line looking weak. I expected the defense to have trouble with the style of offense ATL runs, but the offensive line is a huge let down.

O line protection hasn’t been the best today.

JW hasn’t had a clean pocket all game.

James Hurst scares me @ LT.

True , but that was an easy TD if JW isn't fixated on MT

This ^^^^^^^ is it in a nutshell.

We’re getting EXPOSED in the trenches.

Marcus has had all kinds of time to read, diagnose and deliver.

It’s amazing Mariota and Patterson is giving them this much of a problem. No pressure, no nothing.

These Saints just look like they don’t want to play football.

Oh well, didn’t have much hope for this season but thought we’d at least be competitive.

We are making the Falcons oline look like 90's Cowboys Larry Allen and co.

Also, need to find a way to get Harty or Kamara out on the edge running.

Re: Saints @ Falcons Game Day Thread

I caught flack for saying this in the off-season but systemically we went from a great offensive and good defensive coach to putting a defensive coach over the offense and not replacing the DHC… Did we expect to come out strong?

In the past Allen was working on defensive strategy when we had the ball and Payton was working on offense when we didn’t. Now Allen has no time to work on either.
