History Repeats Itself - Dennis Allen's Raiders Wikipedia

I copied this blurb from Dennis Allen's Wikipedia:

"In his first season as head coach, the Raiders struggled as they finished the 2012 season with a record of 4–12. That offseason, the Raiders were facing salary cap problems and had traded away most of their draft picks prior to Allen's arrival, which did not allow him to establish his system with the right players. In the middle of the 2013 season, Allen decided to bench quarterback Terrelle Pryor (who was injured) for undrafted rookie Matt McGloin, in hopes of salvaging the rest of the season. Later, Pryor continued to be benched although he was healthy enough to return.[11]"

So right now we are 1-3. We are facing salary cap problems and have traded away most of our draft picks. We have decided to bench our starting QB who is injured in hopes of salvaging the rest of the season. 1-3 is the exact same winning percentage as 4-12, Allen's record in both of his full seasons with the Raiders.

In his first year with the Raiders Dennis Allen actually had Carson Palmer, a decent QB who threw for 4000 yards, but due to salary cap issues they could not afford to keep him in 2013. Now we have the next former Bengal journeyman QB in Andy Dalton playing for Allen. If Dalton somehow succeeds, he is on a one year contract and we have the least salary cap room in the league so we might not be able to keep him. As the backup to Dalton, Allen's Raider's had Terrelle Pryor, an injury prone QB who was not really a QB. Our backup to former Bengal QB Andy Dalton today: injury-prone not-really-QB Taysom Hill. Maybe if we wanted to get a different Dennis Allen than the Raiders got, we shouldn't have tried to duplicate as many aspects of Allen's tenure with the Raiders as possible. Or maybe Allen is who he is, 1-3, 4-12, maybe not the best interview, lucky to get the least desireable head coaching job on some team with no cap room, no draft picks, and the refs with their knives out, and then the results speak for themselves.
