Ruiz Improvement
Ruiz has looked pretty solid the last couple of games. A bright spot, even. Not sure if that's due to more attention on the left side or not but regardless, he looks much better.
Hope it continues. :bng: |
Re: Ruiz Improvement
I hope it continues too. We have played some weak defenses lately but Ruiz is young and healthy. We really need to let Peat walk this offseason and it would be hard to have to replace both guards. On the upside I don't expect that Peat will receive much interest on the market after being cut, so we might be able to bring Peat back on a vet minimum salary to replace Throckmorton as backup.

Unfortunately, Peat has not improved his health status or his playing status. I think he will be gone as soon as it is financially possible. We used our second round pick on McCoy and that worked out pretty well. Maybe we could draft a guard in the second round. |

Re: Ruiz Improvement
According to PFF counts Ruiz is one of the very best guards in the game right now in pass protection. The numbers don't lie - just 5 pressures on 289 pass-blocking snaps -- 3rd fewest among all guards this year.

Mebbe he was a slow learner.... like Mark Ingram. Come to think of it, he's coming around faster than Mark Ingram. |
Re: Ruiz Improvement
Doug Marrone taught him proper technique and it looks like the game has slowed down for him.

PFF wouldn't account for that so... |

Hurst is getting blown up ... a lot. |
Re: Ruiz Improvement
I think Jahari Evans being at camp might of helped too.
