We all know how this goes. The Saints have typically done very poorly against first time starting QB’s. Not a good omen.

Well, we got used to most Saints coaches losing to rookie AND experienced QBs. Payton got to where we would beat most of the experienced ones 😝

I don't know Boston, I didn't think he was a defensive coordinator.:wink:

I know Payton used to Tinker with the defense but that's how we wound up with such bad defenses for years. Early on in his coaching career Sean Payton thought that since he could beat a good defense that he could help run one . But he found out that other people did it better and he backed off meddling with the defense and brought in Dennis Allen and the defense played better.

Although, Dennis Allen was not a good defensive coordinator until we recruited him top tier Talent using our top draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. Actually, maybe that's a Dennis Allen trait of not being able to stop a rookie quarterback. I know it's been an ongoing issue for a long long time.
