Yes, we should watch him play for someone else every weekend.
I saw his stats and through 22 games he's what and what with Jamarcus Russell.

From what I've read he's not as good as JaMarcus Russell.

Man no. No pocket awareness and isn’t accountable of his play.

I’d rather have Ian Book and I wasn’t a fan of his either.

Zach isn’t a leader of men & likely a BUST.

Hell nah.

G. Minshew
T. Huntley
G. Smith
M. White
C. Rush

I’d try any of them before Wilson.

+5. I’ve been touting Minshew for a while now. This week’s game for Philly is key for him. If he shines then a big contract could be in his future.

In the draft I’d look for Hooker.

He looks pretty damn good to me. He knocked my little brother out of the playoffs in high school.

Hard Pass.

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

As we saw with Baker Mayfield this year and Jameis Winston last year, you never know what a QB guru genius head coach can do with a gift athlete top pick QB. But Dennis Allen is no guru. He is a poor mans matt Rhule and Zach Wilson is a poor mans Winston/Mayfield. If we bring in Zach Wilson and commit to him, whoever we trade our 1st round pick to will draft #1 overall.

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

I seriously don't know when it comes to any of these QB's. A short while ago I would have gave this a hard no, then I seen what Baker Mayfield did in a better system and it kind of changes my mind somewhat.

I think it would be a decent idea to bring Wilson into training camp as a reclamation project. It's possible he is a good QB that is just a bad fit for what the Jets are trying to do. Of course if his attitude sucks or if he just sucks at QB then cut him loose and forget about him.

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

If he went on to be released and we sign him for the minimum, it a zero risk move I'd consider. With that said, he has the yips, immature, no accountability, and well... he sucks.

I'd like to hop on the Minshew train for a year or two as well as we try to find someone to develop behind him for the next couple of drafts.

I’d rather give a healthy Winston another shot.

Pass on that. Reminds me of the 'Johnny Football' hype from college that was crap in the NFL.

The QB with upside I saw at BYU seems to be gone. Hard pass - let the lonely housewives fight over Zack.

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

This might not be popular but I would see what their going to do when Stafford heals up. If we get an O minded HC then I could see Mayfield here. And to think , we could have already had Akers on the cheap!! Allens got to go!!

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

I don't like much about our D either. Jordan don't look good. The front 4 in all looks ruff. The lb. need more depth, and our backfield not so great after letting good players go to other teams. That's got to get shored up for next season.

Dalton is our Minshew.

I can see us rolling with Andy in 2023 and using our first draft pick on a QB.

The only question is how high that first pick ends up being.

Hopefully more than one pick in the first when it's all said and done. :bng:

This. Dennis Allen and our front office really ****ed over Jameis Winston this year. It’s another bad reflection on our leadership, especially when the team continually identifies Winston as a valued leader…evidenced by the award he was just given and the fact he was a team captain.

I have a feeling we are going to be very disappointed as fans with the compensation for Payton. If Payton ends up having interest in only one final destination then there will be no bidding, just straight forward negotiating. I hope I'm wrong, but if a 1st is involved it may end up being a 2024.

Saints can play hardball too.

How? By saying no deal? The other team can simply say, "Okay. We'll wait," knowing that if the Saints want anything they'll come crawling back with their tail between their legs. The Saints are not in a position of leverage unless multiple teams are involved in which Payton has equal interest. I just don't see that scenario. I fully expect Payton to weigh the options and make a decision on one team and then leave it to the Saints and that team to try to make a deal.

True, but if you think there's not more than one team looking at SP, you're mistaken. IMHO, he won't be left hanging out there too long.

There's absolutely more than one team looking at him, but that's not the point. It matters not who is looking at HIM unless he's seriously looking at THEM. Payton isn't the type that's just willing to go to the highest bidder. He was already making top coaching money at the network job working a fraction of the hours. He's going to pick the ideal situation for himself and then it is up to the Saints and his desired suiter to come to terms. It would mean absolutely no difference to Payton if the team he wants to go to has only offered two 2nd's and a 3rd for his rights while a team that he doesn't feel is his best fit offers up three 1st's, two 2nd's and $20 million cash to the Saints for his rights.

Payton is going to go where HE wants to go and it doesn't matter what the Saints want in return. Of course, the Saints can always simply refuse to release his rights, but that just means they get nothing.

You need to look no further than his Mentor Bill Parcells.

After Parcells’s Giants won another Super Bowl in 1991, he retired and then signed with NBC Sports to serve as an analyst for its football broadcasts. (Sound Familliar?)

Parcells did not leave the field for long, however. In 1993 he became head coach of a New England Patriots............

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

I think some people are forgetting that in other cities the GM can get fired in 2 years if the team loses. And some owners don’t want to being back Kliff Kingsbury for 2 years while they wait. If a GM or owner things Payton can help them win now, winning now not in 2 years will be worth a lot to them, because GMs want to keep their job and owners want tosee what their $5 billion toy can do full throttle. The Broncos want Payton to fix Wilson now and the Cardinals want Payton to fix Murray now, not when Wilson is 37 and Murray is playing Spring ball with the A’s. The Texans want Payton to develop their new QB, not try to fox him after some other coach turns him into Zach Wilson. But at the same time teams dont want to mortgage their future and do a Herschel Walker style trade. So, I think we get medium price, like a middle first round pick, or a high 1st where we give up something back, or a 1st in 2024 and later picks this year, which I am fine with. I hope we dont settle for a 2nd rounder or something because I dont believe any owner would plan to lose for two years over the difference in value between a 2nd rounder and a mid 1st rounder.

Re: Zack Wilson... should we?

I'm dreaming about Hendon hooker. Something in me screams Drew Brees' successor. Of course we need a good offensive coordinator to get the most out of him and we need a good quarterbacks coach and well, there's a lot of work to be done but I think that Hendon Hooker would be a good start.

Me too 4 real but thats not happening with this dumb ass coach. He wants to play conservative AF and thinks we can win scoring 14 points a game because he is so defensive minded in a league where everything benefits the offense.
