What Could We Do Without Pete Carmichael?

This was another great win from this gritty tough team. Without Pete Carmichael scheming the offense I believe we could do better. Much better. We have a strong defense when healthy and our backups have played very well. Especially Allante Taylor. We have enough Talent on this team to win. How could we improve on Pete Carmichaels play calling and offensive focus?

Hopefully Sinner's posts show all the blind "Allen haters" just how silly they sound without evaluating things objectively.

I don't hate anyone. I LOVE my Saints, and would LOVE to see us with a WINNING Head Coach with FIRE.

You Love the Saints but talk about how they suck in the first quarter of a game they win. Sounds like love to me.

That’s like a guy physically abusing his girlfriend yet saying he loves her.

To equate a fan saying that the team sucks when they be sucking, with a guy physically abusing a woman... That's a stretch now, don't you think?

Not really. It’s it’s both you venting on something undeserving.

So physical abuse of a woman is classified as "venting on something" to you? WOW.

Nah... I'm just a Passionate Fan.

Physical abuse of a woman is classified as what 2/3 to 3/4 of opponents do to Dennis Allen. All the excuses of why he can’t be blamed for failure, if fully accepted, would lead only to the conclusion that he is an average head coach. If he was really good, he would not be under .300 career with obstacles, he would be .500 with obstacles. The Raiders were better before and after his tenure. We were better before his tenure with Semien and no receivers.

All of this negative is valid :p.

Don’t look now but interim HC (Steve W) has Carolina in GREAT position to make the playoffs.

I think they will defeat Tampa and win the NFC South.

I don't know how they stack up on paper or on the field, but are the Panthers better or more talented or skilled than us? I don't know, but if they aren't, then their interim HC is better than ours.

Regardless, they're showing what is possible when certain players/coaches are replaced.

The Bucs and Saints have more talent in theory but they are both the two oldest rosters in the NFL and the two highest in 2023 cap expenditure. The Panthers and Falcons have less big names but are among the youngest teams in the league and the Panthers are just under the 2023 cap while the Falcons are among the most under. Yes the Saint and Bucs can get under the 2023 cap ‘easily’ but only by restructuring the contracts of all those aging grandpa boomer players and keeping them for 2023 with big deferred bonuses due into 2025 and beyond. The Panthers interim coach is surely better than ours but it wouldnt matter if he wasn’t, they are still set to thrive while we struggle due to Mickey Loomis’ embrace of a centigenarian roster.

We could probably win the Super bowl....maybe not. We have to get healthy first. Hopefully, this will mean a tougher training camp for these guys. We need to whip these players into shape. I'm talking old school!

Old school went they way of the old CBA's. Under the new CBA's the coaches have their hands tied behind their backs and cannot do any of that "old school" whipping any longer.

Maybe not but coaches can still run the players hard at practice. I think one of the reasons we are injured all the time is because we are not a well conditioned team. I just don't know what else it can be at this point.

OUR Head Coach may have his hands tied behind his back, or maybe he just keeps them tucked away there... but a Head Coach who earns his hefty paycheck, and the respect of his team, while making sure that their condition is maximized, DOES NOT have his hands tied behind his back.

Several teams have just as many or more injuries than the Saints. I know it may not seem like that, but we tend to only look at our team and not what is going on elsewhere. However, playing surface could be a factor with all of the foot and ankle issues. Neither of those type of injuries have anything to do with being conditioned properly.

We don't have the rb's to run effectively. Kamara up the middle not happening. Ingram up the middle not effective. Leaves a D knowing Kamara on a screen or sweep wide. They know Ingram can't run wide. Not much in the backfield as far as imagination goes? Playbook? When you ain't got it the book goes out the window.

Which is why we need to be passing on 3rd and long. Do what Payton did for 15 years ... pass to set up the run.

Yeah that 3 headed monster look pretty good. We had good production then. Way more than Kamara brings. One thing though we don't have Payton.

There's no telling. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up back in NOLA. It is the location with the fewest obstacles and he'd step right in having full control. That's not going to happen anywhere else.
