OUR D.

can I get a witness? |
RE: OUR D.
no

RE: OUR D.
Yeah I second that, still need at least two more games to say they have turned a corner though.

RE: OUR D.
Craft blows....
no that. |
RE: OUR D.
I'm saving this post in the archive..
You're right dude we suck. Crow is good with BBQ sauce.. *****. |
Don't listen Chaching. Our D was damn good today. You can tell they fed off the crowd noise. It was awesome. If not for that opening drive, Buffalo would not have scored at all. We had pressure, we got turnovers. The D was also good against Minny, which got 14 points off turnovers and short field position early in the game. Our D is good, but if you cut at them, you somehow make Brooks look better, or at least that's the attempt, I guess.

You have to weight in our opponets and I wouldn't call the Bills a team to get all worked up over.
|
d played well against a bad o. but we did what we should have against a bad o. in the past we couldn't have hoped for that much
|
What do ya'll want....
WE AINT NEW ENGLAND!!! take it for what it's worth......A "W"! |
Good call Chaching. Jesus. I thought the D looked pretty good today. Plus, we won. Did anyone see.......ONLY 3 PENALTIES!!!!! WOW!!!!!! Almost like we won because we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot. Hey, good job by both D and O. Would have like to see at least one or two of the FG's turn into a TD...but oh well. Carney did good.

I find the constant Brooks bashing to be a bit tiresome and all.......and I, too, pretty much yawn whenever I hear Saints fans whine about Delhomme's departure..........but is there any reason, BlackonBlack, that you can't have one single discussion with SaintsWhodi without immediately referencing Jake?

Look at what they did not do for a change! ZERO turnovers and THREE penalties is huge in my book. No, the D did not kill J.P. and the only person to score was A.B., but look at it for what it is................. ........A FRIGGIN' WIN. Don't get me wrong and think I am going to start chanting PLAYOFFS, PLAYOFFS....If I do call the cops because I'm smoking crack and typing at the same time. The best thing about us (Saints Fans), no matter what, we WILL find something to complain about. God Bless you Guys! :patos: |
hahahahaha.....you real funny dude...
but I feel ya... <ching> |
Before I get a smart :moon: let me just claify that I know Carney made his fieldgoals. I was talking about TD's. :dunce:

Very interesting. I know the Bills don't have an offense. But outside of the opening drive I thought our defense was good. Keep in mind I could not see or hear the game but I followed on gamecast. it seemed like we stopped them when we had to including a fourth and one where they end up with -2 yards. It looked good in print. I think more importantly the team had no turnovers and a lot fewer penalties. I also noticed that Brooks took of running a bit more and I hope that was by design ...again I could not see or hear the game. Quick note: While I'm still not ready to kick or kiss Brooks' ass I will say he didn't have that unforced turnover or drive killing interception - in or out of the red zone. Good job today Brooks...That's today Brooks. Don't go nutting all over yourself. Let's get ready for next week.

LMAO!!!! Hey! This is great!!! Every single post has AB or Jake in it!! LMFAO!!! Oooooohhh....I just metioned both of them! That makes me the bad guy in this thread! Another thread that has nothing to do about either of the idiots and here we are again talking about them. OH well, I might as well join in. I think Jake is over rated. I'm still not impressed with AB yet. There I did it.

I thought it was funny the comment they made after Crafts interception. Something along the lines of "Amazing". There was nothing amazing about it. He threw it right to them. But overall, I thought the D played well. Buffalo only scored 7 points. But you take into account we were going up against a quarterback with little experience, and you might not feel so proud after all. That and the fact that I don't know why Buffalo didn't run McGuahee more (84 yards rushing on 16 carries and their only touchdown), you start to see we may have dodge a bullet. I would have run him right down our throughts. It's not like we put up so many points that they didn't have a choice but to ditch the running game. But the injuries lately I think might be a blessing in disguise. It forces people to step up and give some real game experience to our younger guys. Realisticly, I don't know how this season is gonna turn out, but thats why I watch every year. Isn't that why you watch too?

Our defense played well. Only 7 points were scored. There was plenty of pressure on the quarterback, in fact, they took the starting quarterback out of the game hoping for some sort-of spark. Yes, they gave up some plays, but they didn't fully break. Much of the game was played on Buffalo's side of the 50 yard-line.
As far as our defense almost losing the Carolina game goes, you can fault our offense just as much for failing to put the game out of reach. This game I give our Defense a B. Its not quite an A because after all, they played the Bills. I give our Offense a C. 5 Field Goal attempts is horrible. We should have scored more touchdowns, especially since we recieved the ball around the 50 yard line a couple of times. One drive, we had first and goal from the 2 and were unable to make the touchdown. Thats bad. |
If you wanna be optimistic, the defending champs have the same record as us!!! But we play the Packers next week. I always hate how struggling teams somehow put it all together against the Saints. If the Saints could play mistake free football like this week, they could put away games we're suppose to win and maybe upset some teams here and there. But I'm just stating the obvious.
|
Packers 0-5? Don't count on it. It always seems that momentum switches when teams play the Saints. In fact, I'm suprised Peyton didn't throw his record-breaking touchdown pass against the Saints' defense. The luck of the black and gold.
With that said, I hope the Saints pull this one off. Win one that you're supposed to! Lets do better than .500. Give me a reason to have faith. |
I'm having a hard time expressing this, so bear with me. I don't understand how some people here can evaluate Brooks in a vacuum and give him a free pass no matter the circumstance, while at the same time put down the defense no matter the circumstance.
The defense plays well and it's got to be "because their offense sucked". AB plays badly and its "because our defense couldn't stop them". This week is no different. Brooks plays a great game and we are expected to believe he is exonerated for his HORRIFIC performance in the last two games. The defense plays a good game and we are expected to believe they still suck. What makes Brooks's one-shot deal any more respectable that our defense's one-shot deal? Answer: No difference. In all likelihood they both are still not very good. I will say this though, I expect the defense to get better all year. I expect no such thing from Brooks. He's had five years and I see no real difference in his overall play. |
Ok If we fumble the opening kickoff we will lose the game... it is as simple as that, thats my theory and as of week 4 im right so i mean as long as we dont fumble the opening kickoff we will be fine.
As for the Defence they did good Darren Howard crushed JP from the blind side that was awesome. Besides the opening drive we shut'em down. Sure there not the best offence ever but were not the best defence ever so to keep them to 7points is pretty good. Deuce is a 3rd 4th quarterback he said it hisself and he is right. Aaron Brooks wow he did great yeah i said it great without Joe Horn playing and Stallworth had a good game. |
