His play wasn’t ever bad in my opinion. He had an All-Pro season.

Most people don’t know how to assess the responsibilities of a DB, especially if they don’t understand coverages.

No crap. I can't tell you how many times I've read someone blasting a safety busting his ass to try to make a play that wasn't anywhere near his responsibility only to get blasted by some confused fan that didn't understand it wasn't within his coverage.

Coverages IMHO is tough to understand. I played and coached football for almost 20 years and I still think a lot of the coverage concepts are hard to really understand.

They really are. Of course you play nothing but man to man growing up, but when I got to high school we had a college coach as a defensive coordinator and learning the responsibilities of the coverage he wanted us to play was a tough transition for me. You had deep thirds but different route combinations called for you to cover different things and it just took a lot of getting used to.

I don't think that Tyrann Mathieu played all that well to start the season. He had no cohesiveness with the other defensive backs. We have to remember that it was, after all, a new system for him. He was not tackling well early on and he was taking some bad angles. Some people actually accused him of trying to play injury free football which I did not buy. However, he cleaned that up nicely and played very well to finish out the season. I'll be happy to have him back.

This right here. Black Monday came and went. OC's and DC's as well as HC's fell to the hatchet. But our team seems content to leave things as they are... Sad, because I was REALLY hoping they'd bring in Frank Reich as OC!

If they do wait until the pickings are slim, I say when one goes, they ALL should go!

Perhaps they have eyes on someone still in the playoffs. I don't doubt some moves will be made. Perhaps not all of the ones we want, but we can only wait and see, and hope for the best.
