Re: 2023 Saints Salary Cap Watch
Cam Jordan, Lattimore, and Demario Davis should be among the next wave.
The New Orleans Saints took a couple of important steps towards reaching salary cap compliance on Thursday, restructuring their deal with standout right tackle Ryan Ramczyk while agreeing to bring back struggling kicker Wil Lutz on a pay cut. These two moves saved a combined $11.8 million in salary cap space, leaving New Orleans over the 2023 salary cap by about $35.5 million. Not bad considering they were over the cap by more than $58 million just a few weeks ago, and they haven’t lost a single player. With free agency on the horizon in March, it’s vital that the Saints continue to set up their books to keep their best talent in town and prepare for new additions. So what comes next? |

Re: 2023 Saints Salary Cap Watch
He had a slow start but the Honey Badger played well when he got comfortable in the system. I'm worried that Marcus Maye will be suspended next season and that is one of the areas where we have problems. I do worry about the lack of depth behind Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye. We don't have any idea what Smoke Monday has to offer yet.

Re: 2023 Saints Salary Cap Watch
Let's see. If Marcus Maye misses two games and Alvin Kamara misses six games, then that's a total of eight games missed because of suspensions next year. Apparently, we need better depth just to cover for our players on suspension. I'm not complaining. Just saying this is an issue.

Draft another safety while you're at it.
The Saint's best players (DD, Cam, HB, MT) are a year OLDER. It's time to start the youth movement. Take your lumps in 2023. |

If they had fired Dennis Allen this year that would be the correct move. But since he is trying to save his job he will do whatever he can to win this season.

Re: 2023 Saints Salary Cap Watch
I've seen plenty of losing organizations who were in tune with the players and ultimately failed. It all starts at the top with Dennis Allen. I was very hesitant about Dennis Allen as the head coach when he was hired and I might have been right initially.
