I am against 90% of what Loomis does not 100%. A broken clock is right twice a day. The compensation we received for Payton was reasonable and in line with my expectations, maybe even on the higher end of the medium of range of what would not surprise me. Loomis did not blow it in that trade.

I hate the Carr deal, and the Peat and Thomas deals, and I think our bad cap situation forces us to keep bad players and replace good players with discount versions, but I like that some of the discount versions we got as defensive replacements are not old, and not so injury prone that any chronic injuries have been brought to my attention. I don’t see us as a contender for a ring in 2023 so I am glad we did not load up on aging / injury / suspension prone vets ala Landry, Mathieu, Maye. Williams is not young but he is cheap and he is younger than Ingram.

I am glad we have $16 million under the cap. I hope we dont spend it on a risky player.

Once again, good points Bako. Personally, I am a fan of Mickey Loomis. He set up the franchise to win. He brought in Sean Payton and made the moves that made us perennial winners for most of the last decade and a half.

Yes, he hired DA as DC which worked well and promoted him to HC, which hasn't proven to be a wise move yet, but this year is looking promising again. It was Loomis' job to find a DC long before he hired DA and the team struggled because of that. Nonetheless, he has done an outstanding job in my opinion.

Khai Harley has managed the cap differently than any other team and the NFL is adopting our cap policies. Some people don't like the way we run the team but it looks like the wave of the future. I do have my problems with moving cap hits down the road and losing good players you can't afford like you do though.
