At least Michael Thomas tried, which is more that can be said for Chris "I give up" Olave.

I sure hope Olave isn't another Brandin Cooks attitude problem...

When has Olave been giving up? I missed that.

The announcers showed him during the game jogging through routes and it was easy to see from his body language that he wasn't invested.

Wow! Your ability to accurately read a person's thoughts and intentions by supposed "body language" via a TV clip is incredible. < (Sarcasm, sorry)

:D

That's how false rumors are started. Now suddenly MatthewT turns that into Olave having some sort of attitude problem.

Seriously, do you have a link to the plays where Olave "jogged" through his routes that we can all see? I've searched and can't find them. What part of the game did these events occur? I was in the stands and it never appeared to me that Olave was slacking off at all. I do know Carr missed him badly on a couple of throws, however.

Call it what you want, what many have seen is he wasn't acting right for whatever reason on Sunday. All I am basically saying is I hope this is not another Brandin Cooks repeat, which we all know how that turned out.

I didn't notice anything from the stands. Do you have any specific examples that I can see? I know he gave it his all on this play that Winfield broke up.

Keep in mind that most of these "announcers" have no clue what they are talking about, especially any crew covering a Saints/Tampa match up. LOL

I'm not getting into this with you, I don't have the energy for your narcicism.

I don't have to prove anything to you, even though that's your go to response when someone says something that isn't all sunshine and roses about a dysfunctional team.

Everyone that watched the broadcast, saw the plays where the announcers drew attention to it.

It's fine if you didn't, but I don't owe you an explanation or proof.

So was it a single play or are you saying that Olave was dogging it the entire game? I'm just asking for a little context here, diz. If you can't provide that, fine, no problem. I'll keep looking for it elsewhere. No need to get all worked up over it. :D

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

I have noticed Olave choosing to run quickly out of bounds rather than trying to make one player miss for extra yards the last few games. The way you would like to see an aging QB like Brady or Rodgers avoid hits is what I see Olave doing in close games lately. Maybe he had a conversation with Pete Carmichael about the offense and it scared him straight about CTE. Maybe he is rightfully not invested enough in a poorly coached team that is going nowhere to get himself concussed to save these coaches jobs. Hopefully if we replace the coaches and are legitimate contenders he will put more on the line. At this point I dont blame him.

I am more confused by Michael Thomas going out of his way to dismiss the possibility of playing for another team. If we lose a couple more games, it would make a ton of sense for us to trade Michael Thomas to the Chiefs who badly need a wide receiver and pick up some draft picks that we can use to select or trade up for young offensive line. I think it would also make sense for Michael Thomas to get a shot at a ring because his injury history doesn't track for any kind of 10 year window ahead to be patient about that. And if it goes well and Thomas got a ring with a team like the Chiefs, he could potentially call out what celebrity he wants to date and it might work out. Seems like a good deal to me.

I saw it too. He wasn't selling his routes and looked disinterested running routes. JMHO...and several other fans opinions as well. Just sayin'.

To get a ring, which requires an oline and a good head coach.

Thanks. Do you have any idea where and when in the game this happened? I'd like to try and find it myself. All I saw from the stands was his working his ass off during the game.

That's all I've been asking for is a clip that showed him dogging it. So far no one has been either willing, or able, to provide anything. Seems kind of strange that Olave, the highest PFF rated Saints player in the previous game against the Packers would all of the sudden just quit, doesn't it?

1-4, 4 yards (4 yards was the long) on 6 targets.

Probably pissed at the play calls by the OC dude .

Yeah, I get the frustration. If they lay another egg on Sunday in Foxboro ...

I mentioned it on the game day chat ... poor body language by several players was obvious.

Now this makes more sense than the player simply quitting. This goes along with what Kamara was saying in his interview.

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

2023 Michael Thomas is 2020 Jarvis Landry. But Landry is so old you think? Actually Landry is less than 4 months older than Thomas. They both turned 18 the same school year. Not sure if they graduated the same year from high school but normally people with those two birthdays of 3/3/93 and 11/28/92 would.

Consider:

2023 Michael Thomas:
First 8 games 61,55,50,53,65,45,42,68 yards
55 yards average per game.
On pace for 2 TDs, 1 so far
62% catch percentage
10.9 yards per catch

2020 Jarvis Landry
First 8 games 61,46,36,48,88,40,48,52 yards
52.5 average yards per game
Finished with 3 TDs (all happened to be in the second half of the season)
71% catch percentage
11.7 yards per catch

Meanwhile Rashid Shaheed is playing like Tyreek Hill and we won't start him over Landry 2.0 and Mr. Half Route.

It doesn’t really matter who’s starting. We have three receivers on the field more than enough times to get Shaheed the ball when he’s out there.

This is what people don't seem to get. Who is designated #1, #2, #3 at WR doesn't mean jack squat. They all need to fill different positions on the field thou and thats what they need to worry about.

The JAG #13 most glaring stat - 1 TD :beatnik: cough, after 8 games; Impressive

MT13 can’t throw the ball to himself. Yes, he’s been open, all of our pass catchers have.

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

It's a weird hangup that some posters have here.
As long as Thomas is on the field he's a weapon. He might not be the game changer from three years ago but if Carr throws the ball anywhere near Michael Thomas, he'll catch it.

Just appreciate the win.

mapcow 10-30-2023 04:25 PM

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

Maybe Carr don't have confidence in JAG... or Carr is not a good QB that can see open receivers

rezburna 10-30-2023 05:54 PM

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

I’m not complaining 38 catches for 439 yards and a TD.
Olave has 44 catches for 517 yards and a TD while Shaheed has 23 catches for 479 yards and 3 TDs. That’s really good and even distribution between the three stars.

AsylumGuido 11-07-2023 09:16 AM

Re: Rasheed Shaheed vs Michael Thomas Stats

One "target", a totally uncatchable ball, against the Bears and what does Thomas have to say on public media since the game beyond a couple of tweets praising fellow Buckeye players in the league?

I never did get the false narrative claiming that he was a diva.
