Guido I don't think it's sky is falling, more so a continuation of more than winnable games being loss, something that happened alot last year. Also in back to back games. This is not operating on all cylinders I would agree with that, but can DA PC and DC Crack the full potential here? It becomes more questionable as we see the same shortcomings over and over again. Think everyone here believes what this team can do DA and PC make hard to believe it can done under them. I know a loss is a loss but I firmly believe hiw you lose matters just for long run and how you win matters maybe not in the moment of course a win is a win, for longevity Saint should be banking coaching and execution not luck. That's why I believe neither the Vikings or Rams won the SB after they beat us because they weren't truly the better team they were better in the moment and refs were even better. I just think we all had some healthy optimistic views coming in and slowly they are withering away one Dennis Allen philosophy Derek Carr throw and PEte Carmichael playcall at a time

Is it a talent issue or a coaching issue? The answer at this point has become painfully obvious.

3 plays

Game 1 4th quarter need a 1st down to ice the game who makes the play call, Carr on the bench before they even take the field. When PC is told he just stares off in to “Why can’t I do that” land.

Left to Allen and Pete they would have played not to lose, run the ball 3 times up the middle and turned the ball over to potentially lose in the last seconds. Remember the 4th quarter against Carolina.

First series this past Sunday, they line Taysom up 5 yards behind center, Carr as a Fullback, to gain 1 yard on third a short. Carr with a hurt shoulder in as a blocking back who then runs away from the play, rightfully so, leaving 10 against 11.

Same series same setup, double toss, Taysom>Carr>Kamara 7 yard loss in the red zone.

Attacking the sideline in zone coverage, not attaching the middle of the field in zone coverage, having multiple receiver in close proximity ie multiple defenders in throwing lanes.

Throwing go routes on 3rd and short.
Throwing behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd and long.

Allen, “ We have to do better” … with DA’s life time record as a head coach being
20-49 the doing better talk has not worked.

In the modern NFL where it favors the offense, defensive battles in NFL and 2 hit 1 run games in baseball are not good for TV revenue and fans in the stands.

Average winning score in the NFL for 2023 season so far … 43.4 points per game.

We are now 21 game into this Coaching duo’s leadership, last time this team scored more than 20 points was Nov 20 2022.

Our players are not being schemed into situations and positions where they have a chance to win. The defense knows what’s coming like they were getting the offensive calls along with our offense … to much predictability. Our opponents defensive coordinators know our tendencies based on the offensive packages we send in, we break those tendencies with 2 QB’s in the backfield doing a double toss 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. 🤦

2 more weeks of this type of offense, even if the defense pulls victory out of the jaws of defeat if these 2 guys are still standing you could have open revolt in the locker room.

Wow, just wow .

Almost a year? With those weapons? And key pieces from the draft (Penning, Bresee). And an highly compenstated FA at QB?

I'm not sure how the front office brass looked at these type of stats, player personnel and thought it would be a good idea to bring back Pete Carmichael.

If they don't get it together AND FAST, Dennis and this entire staff won't be back in 2024.

Coaching is most definitely the problem.

Even a wounded & battered Patriots team scares me on Sunday.

I think it's a coaching issue for sure.

If I was a betting man and had zero allegiance to this team, I would bet on any team against ours to win. At least currently. If the Saints come out flat again against the Pats (and stay flat all game long) and fail to take advantage of red zone opportunities and just kick FGs, you can stick a fork in this team.

There is no way this team doesn’t already KNOW how good it CAN BE and should be.

Another weak showing or loss could do some serious damage to the locker room and the respect that the players have for the coaches.

The fork was already in this team last season, and it just got stuck in deeper this season, real early. We are TRUE SAINTS FANS, and want nothing more than a winning team… and with this talent, both last year and this year, we should at least be making games more interesting. WE HAVE A MANAGEMENT/COACHING PROBLEM, and no amount of reshuffling deck chairs on the Titanic (which we’re not even doing!) is going to make this better.

I probably shouldn't have quoted Major's post. Mine was a generalized reference to all of the Chicken Little "sky is falling" posts I was seeing once I was able to get back online. I'm just used to quoting rather than posting new. His was the only post in thread at the time.

A chicken little sky fell directly on your head last Sunday. You say, “Thank You Gayle… Can I have some more?”
