Re: Chris Olave arrested for reckless operation of a motor vehicle

A wide receiver driving recklessly. Wow. We have really taken that Raiders stink off DA and Carr with our excellent invincible organizational credibility that only arrived when we had Payton and Brees.

Fortunately this should have little effect on the team since our WR depth chart is: Kamara, Hill, Thomas, Olave, Shaheed. On most plays Carr is not even allowed to look at Olave. If Kamara and Hill are not open he is supposed to take a sack. Olave and Shaheed are just supposed to run straight to the endzone every play as decoys to stretch the defense.

This team has turned into the gift that just keeps on taking.

Reckless operation is nothing serious. It Can basically be considered a traffic violation. The officer could have very easily give. Him a citation for careless operation. Instead, he wanted to make a name for himself.

Except one does not get typically arrested for this. Maybe he was excessively speeding at triple the limit ?

Kenner PD doesn’t let you off light. Carr had the same effect on Henry Ruggs.

The article I read said 35 mph over the limit, but did not say what the limit was. Either way, I was happy to read that Olave did not resist or do anything to escalate the situation. If the cop could have used discretion to give a ticket, I sure wish he would've done that.

Most places I know of, going 70 in a 35 will likely get you arrested and locked up for a few hours.

Spent 21 years as a LEO in Louisiana. Reckless operation is rarely used. Usually saved for accidents causing a crash with injury. 70 in a 35 is a careless operation citation. Almost no LEO is going to waste time taking someone to jail for this. This guy was making a name for himself.

Vikes Jordan Addison had a similar incident earlier this year (140 in a 55), however no suspension was given by the league.

So this with Olave will probably be no different.

Just slow it down brother. Let's use that "speed" on Sunday.

If he just slowed down like he does on some routes, this wouldn't be news!

If Derek Carr was the officer Olave definitely wouldn't have gotten caught

Because he was an officer in Louisiana! Did you even read what he said before throwing out the negativity allowance for the day? I'm generally curious, do you intentionally try to put people down or does it just come naturally?

I was raised to be an optimist and you obviously weren't. I've met some negative people in my time but you are the most negative person that I've ever talked to. I'm just curious were you banned from SR?

Re: Chris Olave arrested for reckless operation of a motor vehicle

In a way this is Mickey Loomis's fault. I am saying this to troll AG. Loomis hired Dennis Allen. Together they assembled a roster and coached a team that loses and is boring to watch. If the team is popular, Olave likely gets a warning. But the Saints performances are not worthy of getting only a warning. So now we are so bad our players can't even get tickets fixed. Thanks ML, DA, PC!

Lawyers probably say they are lawyers. If this cop wants to arrest Olave for a speeding ticket I guess he can, but the next time a cop asks a Saints player for an autograph for their kids and says "but I'm a cop" the Saints player might say "so." I mean sure, give the guy a warning, make sure he's not drunk, let other cops know so if he tries it again he gets a ticket. But arresting him, I guess maybe its hard to be a Falcons fan on the Kenner Police department.

Poor judgement. 70 in a 35 is pretty aggressive. When I was 23 I did worse.

Thankful no one was hurt. Get back to football kid.

I was told he forgot his phone at home with his girl. He wasn’t driving fast enough. He should have been going 200 MPH.
