True - we suck enough that the other team does not need help

We look better than I thought we would. Not good. But maybe good enough to win.

Good enough to keep Dennis Allen and Derek Carr around.

This team just can't get out of their own way.

So bad.

Took 13 games to attack up the seams in the red zone.

So there's a team that got it's QB knocked out and is stuck on field goals - and it's not us? Must be opposite day!

Re: Saints vs Giants GAMEDAY THREAD

I feel like if the NFL were to change the playoff format, give two byes for each conference again making a 12 team playoff, and create a consolation playoff for teams 13-24, we could be as competitive as any team in that latter bracket. Dennis Allen is right at home playing competitively with teams like the Giants, Packers, Falcons, Bucs, Vikings, Texans, Colts, etc. You never know who will win. Of course, if you want to be competitive in the real playoffs, you have to usually beat such teams.

We have the kind of defense that was built to be dominant against offensive lines like the Giants and Panthers have. Unfortunately, the best teams don't have those lines.

Our coaches are very slow to adapt. When they finally do, any hope is false, because when we face a good team they will do something we have to adapt to in that game. When they do, we won't have 13 weeks to react. We might have make the playoffs last year if the coaches realized that Peat at LT and Hurst at LG worked better than the reverse, but that took them like 20+ weeks to figure out, because their plan is always to just stick with the plan so the old men can play golf and drink light beer not stress changes. When their jobs are on the line our coaches can wake up for a couple of games, put down the pickleball paddle, save Matlock on their tivos, and make some adjustments. But they are not young and hungry or very driven and won't keep up the effort long term.

We do control our own destiny to make the playoffs. Unfortunately if we make the playoffs we will likely face Dallas or Philly in the first round. Saying we control our own destiny in that is like saying that UNO controls their own destiny if they make it to March Madness as a 16 seed and face Duke.

It’s going to be hard deciding who gets the game ball. Really good performances all around.

I should get a game ball for having to listen to Albert and Vilma for 3 hours.

Vilma was laying it on thick today wasn’t he?

Calm down buddy, it was the 5-8 Giants with a 3rd stringer
at QB.

The Falcons are tanking to select TE Brock Bowers in the top 10. Arthur Smith believes he is the missing piece in their offense to make Desmond Ridder a star.
