Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
We were all told a couple weeks ago DA getting fired is a done deal, we about to find out soon.
|
Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
DA will be here next year. I already accepted it. So I'm looking forward to the 2025-2026 season.

Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
No sir.
What’s even worse is there is speculation (Underhill) that Carmichael returns as OC 😱. Changing a head coach doesn’t guarantee success, HOWEVER staying with a mediocre head coach will ensure mediocrity. |
Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
On the bright side, it was his first winning season as a head coach in four tries. So, there’s that.
|
Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
Nothing here either.
Someone mentioned it in the game day thread…the fact that DA told his players to take a knee and they basically ignored him, shows that he has no control of that locker room. Don’t get me wrong, I have ZERO issue further embarrassing the Clowns. But DA obviously isn’t well respected by the players. Can you imagine players trying a stunt like that with Payton? Lol. Wow. Hell no. Guess I’ll start cheering for the Lions and the coach I wish we had to go to the SB. Oh well. Maybe we’ll have better luck next year….or…sometime. |

Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
I wish Allen would resign and take the decision out of Mickey's hands. There's 0% chance of him getting back the locker room or any of these players respecting him. The one guy he went to bat for all year, Carr, was probably instrumental in executing the bush-league Williams TD. S**t speaks volumes. What a lame duck.

This team doesn’t respect him, and neither do the fans.

We might have to see them so this can finally make some sense. Just put the black boxes in the right places. |
Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
Sean Payton said victory formation players would not go to huddle and take votes. Football teams are not run democratically, they are run as a dictatorship and what head coach says, goes. This is outrageous on two levels:
1. The players did it 2. The “coach” put it on them. I get that Jameis went rogue but the coach should have come out in the press conference and NOT APOLOGIZED and just said maybe he would have done things differently if he could. Am I wrong to think this? Or am I missing something |

Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
I felt slightly better for about 5 minutes when I thought he called the fake kneel.
Then I lost any remaining respect for him with how he handled that afterwards. Loathe the guy, so unlikeable. I think the players stopped playing for him a long time ago and started playing for each other. |

Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
Curiosity. There is the novel social experiment of continuing onward for weeks, months and years after the players have long disregarded their head coach. What does it look like when the locker room is far past the point of no return? Not a reality TV guy, but we need Hard Knocks for next season, the NFL could have some groundbreaking material.

Re: The argument for keeping Dennis Allen
I like a challenge, this ought to be fun.
My Top 10 Reasons to keep Dennis Allen - My January will always be wide open to watch Skijoring. - He is our best shot at a top 10 draft picks. - I save $349 on NFL Sunday Ticket. - All of my present NFC South Champions merchandise stays relevant. - Injuries will have a minimal impact on our season. - No worry about having bandwagon fans in the forums. - Easier to stay under the cap when players do not perform on an elite level. - If I have trouble sleeping I can put a Dennis Allen press conference on loop play and lights out. - Guaranteed to just keep doing what we are doing. - Discount Season Tickets. Took me 12 minutes to find all of that silver lining. Chin up! :smokin: |
