Jameis Winston and Jimmy Graham

Lots of people on Jameis back after the kneel TD handoff play yesterday.
Jimmy Graham has something to say...

I’d give him the game ball. That’s the Killer Instinct we needed all year, and we’re really gonna need it all year, next year.

I fond the whole running up the score hilarious
As a non American its seems like something nobody over there would care about. Its not sportsmanship either, if you can't stop the second string players scoring thats on you. Also of you don't want the team to score against you cause youve thrown the towel in then don't try and score yourself. Sports is entertainment and expensive entertainment at that, evertime possession matters

I’m ok with it since it came against the falcons.

It's not about "going for it" it's the way you went for it.

You tricked your opponent, breaking a code, to make sure you snuck someone in the endzone at the last possible second of the season.

Stop acting like you're all martyrs.

Good **** Jimmy. If Carr would have made that decision DA would have fallen on the grenade and said it was his call to do that. Instead we get to scapegoat Jameis Winston for a collective, team decision.

Again. Line up in a regular set and run it. Lining up in victory formation THEN running it brings in the possibility of injury to players who were not expecting a live, full go snap. That was disrespectful and uncalled for. Now, Jimmy was in no danger of hurting anyone blocking. :D

Defensive players do dumb **** during the victory formation all the time. I just saw somebody dive through the legs of a player to try and catch the spike. If they line up in I formation DA is calling a timeout and putting a stop to it. They did what they had to do to do what they wanted to do for a teammate. People are in danger of getting hurt on every single play. If that’s the concern then dismantle the NFL and end the sport.

There's two (or maybe even three) sides to this though. I don't think anyone is up in arms about running up the score. The biggest beef seems to be running a scoring play out of victory formation, which is designed to run out the clock. The most interesting part of the saga is that DA called for kneeling the ball and his offense defied the order because they wanted their man to score a TD.

They couldn't. If they lined up in a regular formation, then DA would have called a timeout and pulled that group off the field. Running it from victory was more about fooling the Saints coaching staff, who had already directed for the ball to be kneeled, moreso than fooling the Failclowns defense.

The offense led by Jameis mutinied. Disrespect was thrown by that group of players to all sides, both Saints coaches, and the Failclowns.

I think it is disrespectful and classless of Mickey Loomis to have us about twice as much over the 2024 salary cap as any other team. It's an unwritten code that even if you do restructure some contracts, you never get so deep in that you have to restructure almost every contract every year. The rules technically allow it but no other team does it because they have class. It's not fair to fans who want their team to have the flexibility to make needed changes or to players who may benefit from a trade or release but cannot get one due to the cap implications. When Mickey Loomis is done with the Saints no other team will hire him. He is just a low class me first individual and I have heard, an addict.

To be fair we were in win now mode so I think he caved to the pressure of locking some of these guys up for a playoff run.

In hindsight, he kept a few of them too long and gave up on a few he should have kept.

What I got from that is

Atlanta suck.

Obvious, but always good to see it confirmed again and again.

It's sad that at the end of the season we are talking about this instead of playoff opponents.
