The Falcons Are A Joke
 

I may be highly critical of Mickey Loomis but fortunately our rival Falcons are just as stupid if not more. I wanted to take some time to enjoy that.

3 years ago they draft a tight end #4 overall. Only one tight end draft in the 1st round in NFL history has had a career worthy of being draft #4 overall. Its the most unprediactable position. 90% of sure thing TE in the 1st round are mediocre. Predictably he is ok but not worth the pick.

2 years ago they pass on Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave to draft Drake London out of USC. Fight on. Not a big error but he is mediocre and they only needed him because the #1 WR bet on apps.

1 year ago they waste the #8 overall pick on a runningback when they already have a healthy young rookie 1000 yard RB. While the rest of the NFL goes to passing, they plan to win it all with a two headed monster at RB and Desmond Ridder at QB. Predictably their running game is similar after fixing what was not broken.

Now they are in search of a head coach and they go with Raheem Morris, a two proven loser, DA’s brother from another mother. Even if they hit on a QB in the draft, Raheem Morris is their head coach.

To top it all off, they gave their division rival Saints two 3rd round picks to hire Terry Fontenot as their brilliant GM to help them decide all these idiotic things. And they did this even though Rich McCay is realy their GM. So they gave their rival extra nfl comp picks for an idiots apprentice / fall guy who is not even their real GM. And now they are giving another wildcard rival in the Rams picks too I believe, for a DA clone who figured out how to coach up Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Bobby Wagner to keep being good.

DeShaun Watson may not be the smartest man, but he is smarter than 3 NFL GM’s and presidents. The 3 fools who went all in to sign him. None of them should be employed. Also look out for Nathaniel Hackett or Josh McDaniels to Cleveland as HC next year.

I don't know about anyone else, but I always thought that you cleaned the trash in your own yard before *****ing about what the neighbor is doing. But that's just me.

The bible does not say love thy division rival. Neighbors are supposed to be friendly. Sporting divisions are supposed to be **** talking competitive rivalries. There is nothing wrong with taking any legitimate opportunity to talk **** on the Falcons or Bama. Its the American way to to do that with rivals. Credit where credit is due, but like in this case, 28-3 *******.

Laugh at them as you may, but they have a lot of talent there on that roster. With some improved quarterback play, they can certainly win the division next season although that’s not saying much.

The Raheem Morris hiring was interesting, but the Robinson hire should help their offense. The one thing Morris has going for him is that his players will play hard for him.

I think laughing at the Falcons brings a high ratio of good juju to bad juju, a 28-3 ratio. We have been laughing at them for 7 years and their performances have only validated it since. I don’t laugh when they make good decisions but they have not made a good decision since dumping Matt Ryan. I guess they could win the division if everyone else tanks but I don’t care, as long as they keep making dumb decisions that limit their prospects to win a ring I am happy.

I will not be praying for the Atlanta Falcons. They are not neighbors or enemies they are rivals. The point of rivalry is that you dont like the other team.

Even with a better QB the Falcons would still have a DA clone at coach and way too much invested in RB. Their roster only looks talented because they play in a weak division, and that talent is at all the wrong positions to succeed. I think the Panthers are closer to contending.

I am thinking the Falcons will bring in Mac Jones. He fits their pattern of bringing in losers, and Jones and Morris can both try to prove Belichick is not all that.

True Dat! Kubiak does bring a fresh system to replace our old, stale, and predictable offense though. I believe that we will improve under Kubiak. But the question is how quickly can this offense pick it up, and do we have the right players for it?

I was just looking back at the Falcons recent draft history and it is a disaster. I think they literally may have cost themselves a Super Bowl just by ignoring conventional wisdom in the draft.

2021: Falcons pass on Jamar Chase, Penei Sewell, and Patrick Surtain to draft a mediocre TE #5 overall. Chase was the next player selected. You NEVER draft a TE #5 overall because the position is just too unpredictable transitioning from college to pro.

2022: Falcons take Drake London over every better WR and many other options. Not a big miss, but a missed opportunity perhaps.

2023: Falcons draft RB Blowjob Robinson when they already have a 1000 yard rookie RB. BJ plays no better than Allegier did the year before. Next player selected was Jalen Carter to Philly.

2024: Falcons draft Michael Penix immediately after giving Kirk Cousins a record deal. Next player selected is Rome Odunze, several elite tackles and dline also available.

On top of that, Falcons select two time loser Raheem Morris as new head coach over Bill Belichick.

Now imagine this. Take the Falcons with head coach Bill Belichick, QB Kirk Cousins, recent additions Matt Judon and Justin Simmons, and swap out the clearly stupid picks that go against conventional wisdom of Kyle Pitts, Blowjob Robinson, and Mike Penix for the next player drafted: Jamar Chase, Jalen Carter, and Rome Ondunze. You still have Tyler Allegier at RB who is a solid 1000 yard rusher.

Who is glad we are not facing that team? Thank you Terry Fontenot for being the worst GM in the NFL and not merely betting on the wrong player, but on the wrong position almost every draft.

The Falcons will probably have a better record and pick later in the draft this year. Perhaps they will sign Simmons and Bates to extensions and then draft a safety. Or perhaps another TE or RB.

With $100 million for one year of Kirk Cousins, the Falcons remain a joke. Now watch their rookie running QB with two ACL tears in college get hurt late in the year and miss the 2025 season. Who would the Falcons start then? Make up with Kirk? Maybe Mac Jones? Maybe Minshew? Aaron Rodgers?

Arthur Blank should have stayed in his natural wheelhouse and played Dracula in TV movies instead of owning a sports team. The Saints absolutely dodged a bullet when Terry Fontenot went to Atlanta.

Meanwhile the Vikings can get Cousins back for $1 million since Atlanta guaranteed his salary, get a comp pick for Darnold, and have another option if McCarthy is hurt or struggles.

How can you tell that a Falcons fan has just finished with his Cousins? He has Penix on his breath.
