Saints' 2024 Schedule Deemed Easiest in the League
 

This may come as a surprise to some local pundits, but based upon the resulting records from the 2023 season the Saints have the easiest 2024 schedule in the NFL.

Rez is right, however, that this season past, our SOS needs to be reassessed in the light of the playoff performances of the teams the Saints faced on their supposed easiest NFL schedule in 2023.

Yeah. That's why I've always thought the strength of schedule comparisons were fairly meaningless. It only takes a key injury here or there, or a surprise breakout player or two here or there, or a great draft to throw a wrench into the projections.

The bottom line is, we are unable to withstand any wrench thrown at us. Another year, another chance to watch better teams play football in the playoffs.

Carolina’s 2-15 record really waters down our SOS but if you look at the big picture we play a lot more strong teams next year even if we play one horrible one twice We go from facing two 10 win teams and one 11+ win team in 2023 to facing one 10 win team and four 11+ win teams in 2024. And Cam, Demario, Kamara, Ram, and Lattimore, a big part of our core, are all a year older which is bad at all their positions and ages.

Yup. All will undoubtedly fall of the face of the Earth with those added months. Hope they all have their retirements planned. Yup. Shells of their former selves. Life is so cruel.

Age is just a number like mileage for your car, charge for your phone, or temperature of your fridge for your food. Extending commitments to aging non-qbs is a trend and soon the rest of the league will look at DA’s amazing record and copy us.

The dome patrol linebackers played their final seasons at ages 32, 34, 37, and 38, Vilma at 31, and cam jordan greatly declined at 34, but because Demario Davis had a great season at age 35 it means he won’t decline at 36.

If I'm not mistaken the Dome Patrol roamed the field back in the late 80's and early 90's, so let's say 30 years ago to be conservative. Players, and their organizations, have far greater means of taking care of their bodies than they did back then. Too many fans are still using that era as a baseline for comparison in several aspects. Back then player's careers were over when their bodies could no longer hold out. Today players commonly choose to retire while they are still healthy to pursue other interests.
