If we went 3-14 during a rebuild and got the #1 overall pick and a new head coach i would not love the 14 losses but i would be excited about a new season with a new head coach. If the next season we went 9-8 with an affordable rookie qb, young core, and cap space I would feel the sky is the limit for the coming seasons. I want a long term plan to win it all, not this year, not every year, but some year, and any year its possible. With Brees I felt we were a threat to win it all every year, if we could make a bad defense into an average one and a a few balls bounced our way.

But what we have now does not excite me. 9-8 with all in maxxed cap trading draft picks and deferring cap dollars to 33-35 year olds into 2028 does not seem like a plan to win it all in 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, or 2028. It seems like a plan to hope to settle for 9-10 wins and one week of playoffs, best case scenario. I want to strike fear into the Chiefs or 49ers etc, if not now, down the road. I enjoy the a process too, but I enjoy the process of ambition, not contentment with medicirity. The process of ambition can start from the lowest of the low. It could be a 5 win season when you aren’t expected to win 1 because you did everything to clear the cap. But its not a process of settling. It’s not a process of saying 2nd place in the division every year is good enough because in the 1970’s we were last.

Se dat right there? ^^^ Yep.

Who could Kubiak bring with him to New Orleans

#1

A former fourth-round draft pick by the Raiders, Feliciano played with Derek Carr for four years before leaving for a starting gig with the Buffalo Bills. He’s developed into a quality backup at all three interior line positions and has had his best season as a pro with the 49ers this year, starting multiple games at both guard spots and snapping the ball himself from center (where he started the entire 2022 campaign on the New York Giants). He would be an upgrade over backups like Max Garcia and Cameron Erving despite his age (he’ll turn 32 next week) and injury history.

7 Saints free agents targets to watch in Ravens vs. Chiefs

https://saintswire.usatoday.com/list...tyler-huntley/

Ravens OL John Simpson

One of Derek Carr’s former teammates with the Las Vegas Raiders, Simpson has held down the left guard spot for Baltimore and is looking to hit free agency in the prime of his career. He could be an upgrade over James Hurst for New Orleans. Pro Football Focus projects a two-year contract for him valued at $5.25 million per year.

Like always, it's very difficult to predict what the Saints will do in free agency. My best guess is this year will be a handful of lower tier players on short deals. There are a couple of issues as to why the Saints may not be able to go after top tier free agents. We do not understand what is meant by Mickey Loomis wanting to change the team culture. What players if any does that involve removing from the team? We can pretty much assume that means Thomas isn't coming back, the way Lattimore's contract was restructured indicates he may be on the list too, Winston isn't likely back, and from there who knows. What we do know is that any player leaving puts an additional strain on the salary cap. Not to mention we still have no idea if Ram will make it back or not. Gonna be an interesting off-season for sure.

You seem prepared to go the 2, or 3, or 5, or 10 years or more of not seeing the change that you seek. You keep equating acceptance of reality with being happy. They are not the same.

SFIAH

This appears to be a concept that is beyond their ability to fathom, SFIAH. They do not understand that we all want better and are not satisfied. But, I'm not going to make myself, and more importantly others, miserable by obsessing over something that none of us have any control over whatsoever.

Oline ...

OG Dalton Risner - solid pass protector & stays in front of his man.
Possibly @ 8M per season.

Quido, it’s a game.

1. The whole objective is to WIN the game. To WIN IT ALL.
2. This team and organization is consistently FAILING to achieve that objective.
3. The fans are seeing NO SIGNS OF ANY RADICAL CHANGES to the strategy.
4. The fans (customers) have all the power to DEMAND BETTER.

You have every right to enjoy mediocrity, and to keep buying the merch, and to keep driving 10 hours round trip to proudly cheer on a sub-standard product.

We have every right to vent our misery with what promises to remain sub-standard for as long as lovely lady Gayle is alive, and beyond.

This forum is not just a place to masturbate over someone making the Pro Bowl, who hasn’t even gotten into the “PLAYOFFS?!?!?” It’s a place where we can exchange our points of view about a team that has all the potential in the world to WIN IT ALL, and yet, is being run into a swamp of irrelevance.

It’s just a game. As soon as many of us “log off”, we have lives outside of this multi-million dollar failing “entertainment” enterprise.
