As I said, I can't understand you, Guido. In most men there is an inborn skepticism towards those in power. That includes big businesses. To watch you cheer on the NFL the way you do is bizarre. Especially after what the NFL did to the Saints after one of Drew Brees' most impressive seasons in 2011 by hitting the team with the bounty allegations that Tagliabue would later refute. I don't think that I need to remind you that the Saints in their prime Brees/Payton years suffered for 4-5 years because of that garbage.
And you cheer on the NFL? That's absolutely awful.

Sorry that I don't display the insecurities of "most men". Besides, skepticism is not inborn, it is ingrained from other skeptics.

Translation: I wear a tutu and shake my pom poms every time I hear a cash register go cha ching. I love being fleeced and bamboozled. Remember, “Winning a championship is not the main goal.”

It wasn't my intent to challenge your masculinity. My intent was to have you explain why you love the league so much after what they've done to our favorite team in the last fifteen years. It's unconscionable and it forces what were once die hard fans to find other things to do with their Sundays.

Guido reminds me of my old college room mate with the way they process information and bluntly form their responses. I get him. He enjoys playing the devils advocate and that may be what gets under peoples skin.

He is 100% behind his team with wide eyed enthusiasm who regularly gets let down by the team but never loses his positivity even in the face of failure. Does he go over board with unrealistic expectations? Yes, but I can't hold that against him.

Like Guido I am an optimist. But I am also a realist. This is the line that most people follow. Not Guido. He's all in. Personally, I don't know why some people take his positivity so hard. His expectations are unrealistic but at least he doesn't just post negative content like some folks around here do.

Last year was hard on me because I was too emotionally invested and I was devastated because I wasn't prepared for failure. I was in a bit of a funk that was hard to shake off. I'm back to feeling positive again and don't want to go back to the negative vibes that we went through last year.

I love the league because it is so damned entertaining. I love the league because without it I wouldn't have my Saints which I am into with every drop of my black and gold blood. I love the league because it gives me entertainment through fantasy football. The league itself hasn't done anything to my team in the last fifteen years. Certain individuals have, however, hurt my Saints in one way or another. The upmost being one disgruntled Saints ex-employee named Mike Cerullo who was fired for lying to team management on multiple occasions. The same Mike Cerullo that made up stories about fictitious bounty systems and such to get back at the Saints.

Those stories were taken to another individual that hurt my Saints by first believing all his crap and then using it as a tool to cover his own ass pertaining to the concussion dilemma.

My Saints were hurt again by some individuals who demonstrated their personal incompetence by not throwing a flag on an obvious defensive pass interference.

I blame none of that on the entity known as the NFL. Just like I don't blame firearms manufacturers when individuals go on shooting sprees.

You see, I'm not so skeptical that I let my personal enjoyment be clouded by what I see is misguided blame. That is what it appears has happened with those that have found "other things to do with their Sundays."

With all due respect, in the absence of watching our team do anything even remotely exciting consistently if at all, and with some of us less interested in MT’s tweets or Jimmy Graham rowing a canoe, and more interested in getting “all the right people in the building”, and a winning team on the field, this forum is a venting place, and your boy Quido (with the broken IGNORE button) is notorious for throwing down the troll chow. Please don’t take it personally. It’s just a game.
