Question for the Forum

What (non-QB) former player would improve the Saints for this coming season?

You get a 1-year rental of any non-QB former player in your team's history. There is no salary hit for this player, they are in their prime, and the player cannot be in the league currently (so no Tyreek for the Chiefs for example)

As I was reading your opening post that's the name that came to my mind.

I really don't know of anyone outside of the o-line corps that would have a huge impact besides a QB.

After more thought all five of those were the next to come to mind.

Colston was great and a feel good story but he was a product of Brees accuracy. I first thought Roaf but I'm wondering if he is suited for the speed of the game today. Gotta go Evans or Nicks. Maybe Jonathan Sullivan as a close second.
I wish we had a team of players with half the heart and drive of Jason David. But with actual ability.

Re: Question for the Forum

1. Jahri Evans
2. Carl Nicks
3. Darren “Spike” Sharper

I believe you've either made a bad joke or bumped your head.

Willie Roaf would have given us 2 or 3 more wins this past season.

No other player mentioned would have done that for us.

Re: Question for the Forum

Roaf for sure but also giving some thought to Rickey Jackson and Deuce

I’m going to go with PT. That screen vision is surely missed as well as its ability to keep defenses honest which opens the playbook a little.

Re: Question for the Forum

I've always been a fan of a versatile fullback. Someone who can catch the ball when needed, can get one yard when needed, can pick up the blitz, open a hole big enough to drive a truck through. I always liked Mike Karney. Therefore he would get my pick. He was pretty solid for the time he was with us. Since this is just chatter, thought I'd toss his name in the ring.

I always secretly loved (respected) Mike Alstott, even though he played for the enemy.

It's fun seeing who even knows who he is at the games. It's also fun having the young fans google him. It's usually like, "Damn! He's just like Taysom before Taysom!"

Re: Question for the Forum

Have any former Saints players become successful NFL General Managers or Head Coaches? Our offensive and defensive lines could used help, but not as much help as the lunatics running the asylum.
